RE: Signed, Sealed… (Almost) Delivered! ⛏️ 🪪9 Mar 2025 21:58
Helium One’s journey from speculative explorer to a near-term producer just took a major leap forward. The Tanzanian government’s offer of a mining licence isn’t just a rubber stamp - it’s a vote of confidence that HE1’s helium dream is, quite literally, about to take off. And let’s be honest, if there were any doubts lingering from the 2023 CPR, they’ve just been left in the dust.
Back then, the Competent Persons Report painted a picture of significant resource potential, but with the usual geological caveats - seal integrity risks, well-bore instability, and the ever-present question of whether helium was sitting pretty in commercial volumes. The Extended Well Test and further data collection since then must have told a compelling story because regulators don’t just hand out mining licences on a whim. If HE1’s helium reservoirs were a mirage, we wouldn’t be here.
So, what does this really mean….. First, it confirms that the 2023 CPR wasn’t just hopeful optimism - it was on the money. The Tanzanian authorities, after reviewing the results of further drilling and testing, clearly believe this is a viable project. That’s huge. It also suggests that helium concentrations and reservoir characteristics are not only promising but likely meet the threshold for commercial production. In other words, HE1 isn’t just hunting for gas anymore - it’s getting ready to sell it.
The mining licence offer also puts to bed one of the biggest risks hanging over the project: regulatory uncertainty. Investors who were sitting on the sidelines waiting for government approval now have one less reason to hesitate. The shift from exploration to development is a rare moment in the small-cap resource space, and it’s where fortunes are made (or at least where eyebrows start raising in the right direction).
Of course, HE1 still has to accept the licence and get the final pieces in place - financing, infrastructure, and of course, proving to the market that it can produce at scale. But make no mistake, this is the kind of milestone that separates the contenders from the pretenders. The 2023 CPR set the stage, the EWT provided the proof, and now the Tanzanian government has handed HE1 the golden ticket. The next stop….. Helium production. And for a gas that literally makes things float, this could be the moment HE1 finally takes off. 🔥🚀🚀🚀
