For investors who are new to buying or selling shares, it's a good idea to know what the market volatility is likely to be so that you know what you are dealing with. Check the VIX index - today it is up sharply so expect prices to fluctuate more. If you are a professional trader you can take advantage of high volatility. It doesn't mean day trading which is for dummies, it means you could get a better price when entering or leaving a position.

People who are unable to control their emotions will simply lose money. Going anywhere near the sell button when the SP is down is completely the wrong thing to do in trading or investing - it make no sense. Another important point is that a dip in the SP is common at this time of day, usually more volatile close to market opening followed by a stabilisation and then a recovery in the afternoon - this is normally true unless there are other factors influencing it . Gold is on it's way back up and nothing has changed apart from being closer to more news on drill results and progress. Learn or lose.

The most valuable resource we have here is patience. Ignore the short term noise and add when you can. We will be rewarded big time in the months ahead.

This demonstrates how stupid banks are by doing things like shorting gold futures in New York. Can you imagine, during a pandemic and coming up with the idea to short gold futures.

Agreed. The only experiments where are being subjected too are coming from the East.

Probably there's a lot of frustration around at the moment, and I think some of us have a lot at stake here.

There's something very weird going on with gold and silver though - I can't believe the market really thinks the economy is recovering and global tensions aren't extremely serious going forward, but the market has been wrong before.

Iron ore is on fire. If we hit good mineralisation at any of the Hamersley projects, RIO and Fortescue Metals will be knocking on the door with a sack full of cash. There's something very weird going on with gold and silver though - I can't believe the market really thinks the economy is recovering, but the market has been wrong before.

After looking at Paddy's new overlay, this is really exciting. Quality work as always Paddy. It almost looks like NCM are attempting to drill under what they believe to be the periphery of the gravity and magnetic footprint, a lot deeper than the historic holes of course. Is this a strategy? I really don't know, but maybe there are other leads or evidence supporting the approach. I think they really are trying to properly test the outer limits. I like the anticline orientation ideas from hydrogen.

The market cap here is still only 2 million or so, which will increase a lot once one or two drill campaigns succeed. Take just the 2 iron ore projects for example - these are likely to to contain many millions of tonnes each at say a 50% cut off, but we have to wait and see how far the adjacent ore bodies extend into the 2 licenses and how much is accessible within a reasonable depth. The key to higher value is more exploration and drilling now on the most promising projects (Donovan 2, San Celso, Hamersley, and Elizabeth Hill).

Alien is very much under the radar right now. I believe the potential of the assets is not recognised by many. Just think what would happen if a high grade gold / copper core was pulled out of Donoval 2 - Teck Resources would be all over it like a rash. But we have other potentially explosive projects - the iron ore in Pilbara is potentially a game changer, and then the silver projects are nice to have too. I'm following the same investment strategy I used with GGP, which is to invest at a very early stage when a new talented CEO comes in who is acquiring quality assets. I always look at the people in a company and their strategy first.

Stretchum, that's due to lack of liquidity which is common with micro-cap companies - the liquidity may well increase as the day goes on. But don't worry about it, just avoid buying or selling in early trading hours or shortly after the market opens.

Iron ore closing in on $100. China has only one place to buy from currently, Australia. We have 2 high grade deposits waiting to be shipped. Brazil, the world's second largest supplier closing down.

I see the gamblers are out in force today, buying and selling at each end of the spread.
