CB1984, it's because people where anticipating a reduced production forecast for NCM. I wouldn't be surprised if some had the idea to slice a few NCM shares and pop them into GGP after the excellent news on Havieron. We could not have hoped for better news. As others have said, forget about the near term SP and wait.

One thing for sure is that nations around the world are going to do huge stimulus and investment spending - it's sh*t or bust for the economy now. It could well trigger a commodities boom this year. Good for us as national debts will balloon and the flood of cheap money corporate debt in the system will see to gold's future.

Morningsun, I'm actually quite optimistic about the future of GGP and the gold market. If we continue to get great results and with rising gold prices I would think that GGP's share price would outrun and headwinds from other negative events around the world in the next 2 to 3 years. Can't see much downside for gold at the moment. But that's not to say there won't be further downside shocks to markets in general. Obviously, nobody can predict the future, and we may get lucky and the covid-19 might fade away over the next few months. Then again the current debt driven global system won't last forever either.

Morningsun, I didn't say it covid-19 was the most contagious and has the highest mortality rate. It's the combination of infectiousness and mortality that is worrying. Maybe you know more that the worlds top experts. I'm guessing you know more about everything.

The two worrying things about covid-19 is that it is highly contagious and the mortality rate is very high, and it's fairly clear that containment hasn't worked so far. I believe we are heading for difficult times.

schlemiel, GGP have never said they will take any of their projects to production. If fact, they have stated quite the opposite. What you posted is a gross generalisation - if you look at the dynamic with NCM Telfer and GGP, it is an unusually unique situation.

Yes in addition Spy, NCM has 1.6 billion in cash or equivalent and 3.6 billion in overall liquidity - and as Oldtimer stated increasing cash flow from Cadia. That means there is no problem borrowing to invest if they want.

It comes down to emotion relating to money really. If we look at the current market conditions objectively, it will later be seen as a blip in our journey. There is currently a fair bit of panic selling affecting the broader market, which will pass. I've seen my holding rise and fall by amounts that would be life changing for some, and this has happened many times over the years. We must learn to ignore short term moves if we want to realise the returns that we expect.

This is way oversold. The MC is only 143 mil - that's nothing. Should be closer to 200 mil for what we have now and the current potential.

I wonder if NCM knows something about the SW part of HAV based on the historic test hole HAC9501. They reported "gold anomalous and extensive haematite alteration in 1999 - 2000. But back then they didn't go deep enough.
