Investor, you're totally right. These little oilers are often much higher in their explorer phase than the early production phase and that attracts dreamers.. Naive investors get sucked in on the hype around new drills, oil shows, big finds etc and the sentiment drives the sp and expectations to ridiculous levels as there are no stable metrics to judge it by. Once there is production suddenly there are metres to judge relative success and the early hype-addicted investors are left holding the baby at ridiculously high averages where they are unlikely ever to get back to. Their subsequent bitterness and anger is never directed at themselves but at the company staff and other posters. I would put Master and Hamm into this category. Master is always banging on about how the sp has catered from double-figures to 1p because of a useless CEO,blah, blah etc when what he is really saying is that he messed up big and he just got sucked into the hype vortex. Tbh I was just as culpable as this with COPL. The big red flag there was huge debt which I didn't take into account sufficiently and, as it turns out, malign actors around the company working against shareholder interests which is why it's about to go through the courts. Here we have no debt, surplus income, very little priced in and I'm pretty confident Mike Buck is a straight sort of bloke. I blame myself for my naivety at COPL. Others need to do the same here rather than endlessly whining. This is AIM after all. Nothing is ever guaranteed.
