The largest shareholder in Barrick has said that his preference is the JV in Nevada.

Just think there were several bidders for Omi and Newmont had to come out on top and they must have had to beat a company of formidable stature and that could have been Barrick.

I reckon we will hear some news possibly in April after Newmont have concluded their merger with Goldcorp at the end of March.

I think this latest news on Barrick will not affect the Omi / Newmont announcement due regarding Omi plans for 2019.

Spot on. Also, research suggests that whilst Barrick's production from existing mines had been dropping, Newmont's falling production from existing mines has been offset by its growth projects and the company has long track record of successful investments and I believe Omi will prove to be one.

Reaction to hostile bid by Barrick announced this morning

News out a short while ago that the Canadian Competition Bureau has given green light to this merger.

Hope attention will be given to Omi soon.

This sounds about right and compares nicely with Continental Gold Inc share price of $2 with 150m shares in issue compared to Omi based on proven resource of 450k ozs only.
