If sommones partner has decided to end the exclusive nature of their relationship it does not mean they have decided on a divorce. It just implies that are sleeping around. reluctantly I am afraid I agree, we could see this drift below 1p and it would be fair value for all the reasons you have given Kev.
So why do I still hold ?
I have asked myself this many times with BPC and have come to the conclusion it is pure FOMO on my part.
I have been in bed with BPC for several years, it would be sod's law I sell then the deal is announced and I am left with my abbreviated Richard in my hand thinking of what could have been.

The way I am playing this is simple. I have a pot that I hold till this plays out one way or the other.
On the collapse I picked up enough to have a trading pot worth playing with.
I reserve the right to increase this pot if the price falls and I still have hope that they will come good.
Equally I will trade the backside out of that pot should we get a few SP swings.

As much as I like the bits I have seen on the geology in the BPC acreage I think you have hit the nail on the head Trek.

BPC is at risk of being the lad in the nightclub with high standards that goes home alone.
The major was very flirty and even paid for a few drinks but it looks as though they have gone off explore other options (better dancers maybe?)
it is 01:55 the club closes at 02:00 and that person that tried to catch your eye before 12 pints is still over there....maybe not what you wanted but better than going home alone with just a bag of soggy chips.

I think BPC timelines are somewhat loose.
How many times over the years have we had terms like near term, coming months, imminent, the list is long and distinguished.

I take all of the timelines with a large slab of salt

Quickpix. Where do you keep the note of the unicorn share you let slip through your fingers because you sold out before the big day? We all know BPC has a fairly binary outcome. It is an all or nothing play. We are 1 RNS away from the share being worthless or a multi bagger that most investors only ever dream about. For some putting away BPC shares worth 5 10 50 grand today is a harrowing feeling. For others it is an acceptable risk.

I think it has been covered on here before but the EA should be viewed as a live document.
BG will not give a formal sign off before the details of the drill are established.
Farm in options will be aware of this and will engage with BPC and BG as part of the negotiating process.

Now, it could be that as part of the exclusivity period the potential farm in partner through this process saw the terms for final EA approval and felt they were too restrictive. (speculation on my part)

the most positive thing I take from the RNS is this:

"Recommenced engagement with a variety of new and existing parties as potential well funding partners."

the new parties is good news, the existing parties could be very good news.

IF one of those is the exclusivity partner what does that say?
(it is a big and very unknown IF)

Either way the company has sufficient cash on hand to throw the mother of all Crimbo parties if they don't expect the licences to be renewed. I expect a ticket in the post if that is the case.

I have a small vanadium play that is getting close to a 20 bagger.
nothing getting up to the 50 x but still heading in the right direction.
A few 10 x along the way keep me in Gin

I have been in and out of RMP and a few others over the years, the list is long and with mixed results.
BPC is the only one that has ever really felt like an itch I just can't scratch.
Many times I have let my heart over rule my head to keep me in here.

I have looked at SOLG but not dipped a toe in. GL there - hope it bags nicely (think it could).

Tiburn, I think the analysis against CLON and for that matter MATD are interesting.
All 3 have plus points. I guess where you put your money - or for those in all 3 how you spread and play all 3 comes down to risk v reward view.
I think BPC has the highest upside - but carries the highest risk.
I think MATD comes in 2nd on risk but I have some nagging doubts about the management.
I think CLON is well placed and of the 3 looks to be the lowest risk in my eyes.

I cover all 3 on my high risk side but you don't find unicorns without dreaming.

I wouldn't advise anyone put money in any of the 3 without doing serious research.

I think you may be about to set the record for the most recommended post on the BPC BB.

I am sure all parties if sat in a bar over a beer would accept a share of guilt and agree to move on.

Without calling anybody out maybe that should be an end goal for the group?

If BPC goes to the wall the shorters buy the beers, if BPC land the whale the LTHs buy the beers.
Either way we get a few beers in and talk trash about the next big thing - whatever that may be.
(If I was really switched on I would pull a random string non-existent code out here and set the hares racing but my next investment is in a bottle of something that goes well with tonic and I am not looking beyond that today)

I think both have potential, but both are high risk high reward plays.

I wouldn't advise anyone to jump in to either without DYOR (reading BBs does not count without source documents)

RNS at MATD today. Clear, Simple, Timely.
Not the news people wanted but clear enough for the SP to retract to a decent place reflective of the position.
Potter could take note.
What we do not know at BPC is does the SP today price in all that is going on (positive or negative)

Are we more likely to test historic lows or recent highs next.

The ambiguity in the RNS leaves hope that there might be more going on, however as the saying goes "it is the hope that kills you"

Stop losses have a place i am not convinced AIM small caps are it. Far too easy to encourage price movement to shake out stops before good news. Far to difficult to execute at the agreed price if the share tanks hard. For anyone on the sides looking in only invest what you can write off to zero on day 1. Sure the share could be 10x where it is in a heartbeat. It could also be 0x. I remain positive on the assets but am at best neutral on the management. The clock is ticking down towards the licence deadline and even the most positive posters on here (the honest ones at least) will acknowledge the risks.

If the BG are identified as the stumbling block it would be a very risky game for them to play.
Why would any overseas business invest money into BG in future if that behaviour were proven in the past?

As much as I think BG are not always the quickest to push things through I don't see them being the biggest hurdle.
The exception to this would be the wording around BPC's farm in partner needing BG approval.
I would assume BG have the power to veto any partner if they have reasonable grounds to do so (e.g. poor environmental track record, lack of local labour market opportunity and so on.)

Not looking for sympathy towards SP or criticism of his time at BPC.
No reflection of share price or anything BPC related.

Just a quick thought on where the future of SP may lie if the BPC deal does not happen.
Not only is his reputation as an effective leader damaged in the business community but how many PI's and II's will think twice about investing in a share where SP is in charge?

I have made the mistake in the past of falling for a business with great prospects but ineffective leadership.
I then was involved with another share again great prospects but new leadership brought on board was that from a previous failing. The alarm bells rang for me but I felt the business prospects were worth sticking with.

2 failures under the same leadership.

I know I will not remain invested in a business headed by SP if he falls short at BPC.

I was one of the many that didn't attend the AGM this year.
If any of those who did could summarise then it would be a great help to the rest of the board.
If any have the time and willingness to go into detail on anything that they picked up on that would be even better.

Somm. You are happy calling people out for not answering your questions. I trust you are now ready to set an example yourself and answer the question put to you previously. If you have forgotten it here it is again. Do you benefit from the price of BPC shares falling or rising? Simple question. Now what I want to know is why you are unwilling to share that with the board? If you are a shorter have the stones to say it. You might get a bit more respect even from people who are long. Of course there is the third option of short arms deep pockets and not having the stones to take a position either way?
