As much as I am not a fan of the wild rampers or the harbingers of doom I do read the posts and chuckle.
One thing that is almost always certain it will not be a rosy as some would have you believe, equally it is unlikely that the world will come to an end as a result of BPC not getting a drill in the ground.
Perspective.

in my opinion, and by no measure should it be viewed as fact or even expert opinion there is still a deal to be done here. I do not think it will be as good a deal as the shareholders would like. I think we will either land with a minor stake and a free carry or we will have to find a way to raise big numbers as part of the drill programme.
I would have liked a fragmentation deal splitting out the licence areas to put us in a stronger place if we have a commercial success on the first drill but I doubt that we are in a strong enough position to negotiate this.

I agree with others here that the time between RNS and drill in the ground will be short and that long lead items will already be on a provisional order somewhere along the line. When / if something happens here it will happen very quickly.
That will give LTHs a new decision headache, do I sell out a pct stake early and de-risk or do I hold for the big dream?
My play will depend on the numbers but at the moment the idea is to sell the trading pot at a level that leaves the long term hold pot paid for out of trading pot profits. The problem is that this requires a SP of just over 8p for me.

hope should be the last thing to go. Keep the faith, there is still hope that we have oil in the ground.
There is still hope that a deal can be done.
There is still hope that we will be here to see the long suffering shareholders rewarded for supporting the lifestyles of the board.

you have paid your money and earned the right to air your views with any luck it will improve over time and you will walk away from BPC in 12+ months a happy and wealthy former shareholder.

I have mentally written it off to zero several times only for something to bubble up again.
Would I sell out? At this stage, not a chance.

I got away with that one yesterday. Mrs P_I didn't see anything that took her eye. Better still after an hour or so looking around various shops her appetite for shopping was gone.
We perched up in a nice little bar had a few drinks and nibbles and just enjoyed the day.

Pay dirt - no harm in having a dream, That is why most of us are invested here.
My opinion, the timeline between agreements on a deal and a drill turning will very much depend on the partner (or consortia) we are with.
However from a share price point of view as soon as the deal is on an RNS the SP will be quite a bit higher - for some this is 'pay dirt' time.

Nice to see a few bigger share trades again. When we are in the 10's of millions on single trades or 100's of millions on daily total trades I will allow myself to get excited.

all investments should be smart, well thought out and have the risks and rewards understood.

For me my two most precious commodities are time and cash invested not for me and for now but for my family and their happiness and their future.

In my yoof I invested my time and money in social activity, this gave me time with friends and beer.
At the time I felt this was the right investment. It was a good investment but I had the balance wrong.
In my 20's I invested time in my education and a family and all my cash into a place to call home (a result of some good time and beer investments in my yoof gave me a beautiful wife and two great kids) . Again it felt like a sound investment strategy.
By my 30's I was investing time in my career and started thinking about investing cash in my kids futures. Gone were the days of beer and social life.
By my 40's my kids were doing well in their own right - an investment in their education had paid dividends. They had invested in beer and social lives and as a result had started families of their own.
Some of my investment decisions had paid off and I no longer needed to invest time in a career, I had two of life's precious commodities back.

the moral of this story is that investing in beer or stocks has an element of research and knowledge but lady luck should never be underestimated.
I am where I am because of my decisions at 16 - 20 to invest in beer and having fun. the rest is just pure blind luck.

I am off today to invest time in my better half (and no doubt cash on a beer for me and shoes for her - life is good)

hope that the odd share trades are an indicator of more blind luck to come here with BPC.

I am already married so that will not have much of an impact.

I do however think the additional consumption of a drink still served in traditional imperial measures sounds like a manageable sacrifice. I am willing to join you in the advanced protest. I consider it practice for the 87p party.

As for premium bonds, I would have done better investing in real ale and bar snacks, oh I did that as well. All part of a balanced portfolio.

enough is enough. I am going to stage a 1 P_I protest at the lack of news flow in the absence of any news worthy of an RNS I would like SP to join the chat on this BB.
After much consideration I have decided on a protest that involves growing out my hair and beard until such time as we get clarity on BPC 2020 and beyond.
I decided on the hair and beard option as it will not take a great deal of effort on my part, does not need me to be any fitter than I am now, does not require investing in specialist kit that is used for a very short time and most importantly does not stop me from having a drink as and when I fancy.

I think it is kind to share with colleagues at work.
I suspect that is the true reason for the existence of these sweets. Comedy gold.
I think the most effective use would be for the MAMILs, they love a handful of sweets to help them climb the next big hill.

(MAMILs - for those not familiar is Middle Aged Men In Lycra and refers to the more dedicated cyclists out there. I can't imagine lycra to be the most forgiving material for the famed shart syndrome.

Brynjon - it is common sense and reasoned logic like yours on this board that newbies need to see. All with the time and patience to read up on the company will likely come to the same conclusion - on the basis they have access to the same data.

I like the occasional wild ramp post, I like the occasional doomsayer post. I just like to see them posted with the honesty of opinion rather than the authority of fact.

in my opinion the asset is sound.
in my opinion the board are working towards a deal.
in my opinion we could have done a deal sooner if we had a different leadership team.
in my opinion we do have a risk that the board may not get a deal done.

given the choice, and knowing what I have learnt from BPC over the years would I still have a punt here today if I was a newbie? probably.
It would today be a punt, but it would be done in the knowledge that it could be one of the best punts I ever make.
Would I have as much invested here as I do today if I was a new holder? not a chance.

Now for a fact.
Rich tea biscuits are no good for dipping in tea.
Give me a good old digestive, a hobnob even, provided you only want to drink half of your tea. Or for a real dirty treat a bourbon biscuit dunked in red hot tea so the chocolate cream starts to get soft.

I am sure there is a great deal of work going on behind the scenes.

I am however not convinced that the work load has always been as high as it is today.

As for the conspiracy theories I do not pretend to know enough about limpet mines, or building structural load limits or how the steel reacts with temperature, pressure and impact forces.
I have seen a warehouse racking collapse that did not follow my perceived knowledge so do know that things do not always follow expected outcomes.

I do know that a good G and T requires ice and that we are all out. That is something that must be addressed in the short term.

I agree that with BPC things move slowly. However I also agree with the 6 month timeline.
My thinking with this timeline is simple, beyond that if we do not have an agreement in place there is such a slim chance of getting a drill programme in place we may as well declare BPC a dodo share.
That will be even worse if within xx months A.N.Other company steps in and does a deal with Gov't Bahamas and becomes a phoenix rising from the ashes that once were BPC. On one hand the LTHs here will confirm they were right to have faith in the BPC prospects.
On the other hand they will know that SP has held their unicorn share in the palm of his hand only to let it slip away.

Come on SP do the deal. If you are having trouble finding the words just play a video of Sir Robert of Geldof (circa 1985)

Either that or set football transfer window deadlines for all interested parties. We could have a deadline day deal window live on the broadcaster of your choice. I fully expect Harry Redknapp to then get involved only to sign Crouch, Defoe and Kranjcar.

not brave enough to risk being out with my main pot just in case. I would not be happy if I missed out there at this late stage.
However, I have looked at the trading pot a few times and even considered just greedily adding to the trading pot if the price dips towards the 1.2 range.
