After the incident, the SI was unloaded of all containers to presumably bring the damage above the waterline. She then sailed some 800 miles under her own power to the Betsiktas shipyard in Turkey for repair. At the same time, it was decided to carry out engine wear tests to issue part LONO on MSAR. Maersk in the interim decided they didn't want the "chemical plant of a Scrubber" onboard their ships at that moment in time. Following repair, the SI was put on a different route which couldn't take in San Roque for MSAR fuelling at CEPSA.
The MSAR trial, was ended prematurely. A part LONO was issued.
Facts straight AKHM. This was NEVER an Excuse by QFI or Maersk, it came in a note to agents expecting their deliveries of containers, by a third party consigning agent. The ship actually hit a submerged wreck (which was unmarked by a buoy!!) ripping a large tear in the outer hull.
But, but, I'm sure HaggisMcSavilleBrian TOLD us in November unequivocaly that the Licences had been approved???
Funny isn't it Aussie, I thought the forum was supposed to be the place where open views aren't tolerated?!!
Just isn't the case of course, unless you, in the past, disagreed with Brian (Saville) but he long deserted it when it had served his purpose!
No, we just don't tolerate Shorters / Rampers / Windup or soapbox merchants who can't make their point in less than 5 posts!
How things have changed!
Have a great weekend, you wouldn't want to be out of it!
RNS 21 January 2021 ..Over 2 years ago BTW ...
Initial activities under the (MSC) JDA will include project initiation, definition, high-level scoping and feasibility activities ("Initial Activities") of the overall Trial. The Initial Activities are to be completed within 3 months.
Contingent on the outcome of the Initial Activities the parties will progress and define the project roadmap during Q2'21 in preparation for the execution of one or more Trials commencing in H2'21 on representative commercial vessels in MSC's global fleet ("Phase 1"). Upon completion and success of Phase 1, and subject to further agreement between the parties, the JDA envisages subsequent commercial roll-out across the MSC global fleet ("Phase 2").
Is it H2 2021 yet??
Still waiting?
PFFFFT!
Haggis is Dr Who and I claim my £5.
The only way QFI ever will meet ANY original OR subsequent targets is with a Tardis!
Spot on Vince! We've been here too long :-o

https://www.manifoldtimes.com/news/quadrise-highlights-positive-test-results-of-biomsar-fuel-on-wartsila-diesel-engine/
'The bioMSAR™ test highlights are as follows:
Engine efficiency was higher (up to 7%) than with marine diesel, increasing with engine load.
Average calculated CO2 emissions were 26% lower than diesel on a life-cycle (“well-to-wake”) basis, due to a combination of the 40% renewable glycerine content of bioMSAR™ and the higher engine efficiency.
NOx emissions were lower than for prior HFO and MSAR® tests, and comparable to diesel, with further NOx optimisation possible.
Smoke and particulate levels were very low, as were unburned hydrocarbons emissions, due to efficient fuel combustion.
The existing diesel engine fuel pumps and injectors worked well with bioMSAR™.'
..reads like a 'StuffedSheepsStomach' ramp doesn't it!? ..But no, it's true!
Oy! I thought I was filtered?? :-D
I see he's done a vlog on yesterday's AGM!

We wouldnt even meet the timeline for kick-off!
HF14 "You don't need to be there to ask a question!!!"
True, but as I have found out in the past, you have to be there to get an answer!
Look forward to hearing your questions and follow ups HF14
The real 'flesh' is in the informal meet and greet afterwards where we get to judge more subtle points. A timely update on this on the forum in due course no doubt!
Haggis won't be going, he knows everything already!
The Cape of duie course and as appropriate more like!
No reason why Maersk should be monitoring the MSC trials. They know perfectly well how successfully MSAR performs in a ships engine otherwise they'd be telling MSC not to bother.
Now the environmental pressure has really upped its game, they need options as much as anyone.
