AngerSharkz, forgive my lack of knowledge about shorting but how exactly would that have worked?
We don’t need to know about your toilet habits thank you.
Do peeps think this news (if RNS’d) will do for the SP?
I watched it too, all 2 hours of it. Yet again Dave Ward said RM made £758m last year. He made the same mistake on some phone-in last year as well.
Read the last RNS, it’s been cancelled.
When the figures are released management should say the 9% is no longer affordable, in fact nothing is affordable now, you might get a pay rise next year….
Still waiting for the RNS Steve….
RT003: are you one of the major shareholders then?
Who are the other main shareholders (apart from DK) that the CWU are going to meet?
The dividend’s been cancelled.
With RM forecast to be losing £600m plus how can the union be expecting/demanding ANY rise in pay?
OliGarch@ I know this. But who in their right mind would actually do it? The pay would have to be massive. Well, it would for me!
But who’s going to do this style of delivery? I’ve looked into it and it’s not worth it in my view.
He does forget the obvious; surely RM will lease the vehicles?
Treadingcarefully@ I’m going off all the previous RNSs about the DFS due by year end.
Well, there’s obviously an RNS due; it IS the year end.
OliGarch@ probably not. We’ll have to see what the next ballot tells us. And talking of ballots I always think they’re worded to get a yes answer; of course everyone’s prepared to strike. It should ask: do you think we should strike? In my view I don’t think striking has helped at all. It was ok in the old days when it was govt owned; they eventually caved in. BWDIK.
It wouldn’t surprise me if they actually offered less next time, seeing as they’ve been losing more business.
casperdog, have you been a postman? I suspect not. It’s quite a hard job nowadays and fiddly. You’re forever scanning items, even piddly little packets from China. 50% of people aren’t in to accept packets and we weren’t (when I was working) allowed to doorstop. Some houses you’d knock three times, push a notice left through the door and they’d suddenly appear which was very frustrating. Plus you have to deliver in all weathers, boiling hot days when you’d only get the occasional customer give you a drink to freezing snowy days when you’d be traipsing up peoples uncleared (of snow) slippery paths. It used to be easy in the days of 2 deliveries when you had just one satchel of mail including maybe ten packets and you’d be out delivering before people went to work, but nowadays you have eight or more satchels and hundreds of packets. I don’t quite know how posties can be more efficient.
Do we get a juicy special dividend?
