It's a global spread betting firm providing access to global markets as they have been buying up spread betting firms all around the world

It was originally called 'Investors Gold' as it started out years ago as a gold index trading platform.

Now known simply as IG.

Spread betting profits are not taxed in the UK

You can then transfer profits to a SiPP / ISA to purchase UK qualifying stocks that would benefit from capital gains tax relief.

However losses can't be offset in the same way as crystallised losses that are held within a GIA can be offset against taxable gains held within a GIA.

You can use IG kev.

I'm not recommending one broker over another and probably a good idea to have a few options available to you for different trades and markets exposure.

Crux have just done an interview with Mark Bristow CEO of Barrick Gold.

Thought I'd mention it as ironically Barrick rarely gets a mention on here

But then again, I rarely see any other posters over on Newmont bb either.

If Gold and Silver keep pulling back, I'll be tempted to get back into those 3GOL and 3SIL positions that I mention last year in October and ran them up

Just being patient at present as see those Leveraged plays coming back into a buying window at some stage.

Talk of some buy-out offers on the table now.

Both companies did Crux interviews before they really took off.

Most CEO's would totally bottle doing a crux interview as they'll likely get found out if it's just some lifestyle nonsense as they tend to ask the tougher questions that investors actually want to know.

Pre the Web page / dot.com days it was mostly bulitin boards if you can remember back then?

Pistonheads is one 90's style builtin board that's still going strong though in the way it was back then, just obviously on their website now.

But that is what it all looked like.

AIM also started in 1995 with around a dozen companies and now has around 800.

Never mind apps.. no one even had the Internet until mid 90's and even then it was on a dial up modem and you had to unplug your phone line to plug it in a send an email.

It would take about an hour to download a song.

Certainly no live streaming back then at 14 megabites per second download speeds.

Ceefax / Teletext was cutting edge for up to date market news straight to your TV in the 80's

It ran from about 1974 to 2000's and its even still going online even now. But the widespread adoption of the Internet saw its demise.

1995 was the start of fhe dot.com boom and bust..

Before that the FT did a good job in and is still going strong after 135 years.

If any of you guys have never listened to it. It's really pretty funny stuff from back around those times.

So funny I just remembered that one..

Yep back then it was RRR + AYM + CNR

All three of them... 20 x baggers. All at the same time.

All three have since dilluted to oblivion.. placings after placings.

It is why its pure madness to hold these types of early stage exploration comps long term (over many years)

But I do love holding them (short term) when they do go on a nice rip aided by some good news or expectations of a strong SP catalyst event or move back from oversold or under valued vs assets / blue sky potential and the herd pile in pushing them up quickly and volume spikes along with the Share price.

Getting the right entry points and exit points is always the most difficult part in a bear market, but much easier in a bull market where momentum tends to follow through over multi session rallys.

When markets are more difficult even really good news can get sold into quickly.

I'm sure you have spotted all the one's where you normally get a few sessions of positive momentum ahead of the inevitable cash raise and I'm sure there are a few that only ever trade these types of comps both long and short and are happy to play the cycles to their advantage.

There are some which are more obvious than others.

The more familiar you are with them I guess it becomes easier.

TW had mentioned them earlier in the day and had just released an interview with Bell so something brewing with that lithium license.

When will it end...

Typically October based purely on the old 'sell in May' theory that sees market participants reduce over the summer months.

volume usually comes back in with the strongest months being Oct- April.

It is what it is.

Had BCE announced that well result in say a week or two ahead of Xmas or at the start of a new year, I reckon they would have seen a far stronger rally in the SP.

Unfortunately, a lot of traders are busy on Holiday at the moment resulting in lower volumes and folk naturally close our or reduce positions if they are away and not wanting to keep up the daily monitoring that most AIM stocks unfortunately require.

General markets not having a particularly great day or week.

FTSE and AIM getting whacked again

The SP had a technical breakout on the chart for all of 2 minutes at the opening bell.

Now it's settled down within the range.

I'm sure many who have been holding all the way through would have been expecting the SP to properly breakout on this mornings RNS?
