the board is doing a good job and have my support. remuneration is fair.
the serenity deal was a masterstroke. a shot at a big oil field with a potential fall back plan. I would argue Simon Oddie has potentially played a blinder here that he is not get recognition for. there aren't many deals like this around. the fact it came up dry doesn't make it bad strategy.
who wants to invest in an oil company that doesn't drill wells? dusters are part of the oil sector risk.
I would say repsol may have been holding off on their Tain fid until the outcome of serenity was known. They were only expecting to recover 10m Boe. How big is serenity? Not 3km to west. 1km? 2km? Makes sense to tie in though from a financial point of view. Expected to flow 4000.
The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC) is carrying out the sixth Irish Offshore Strategic Environmental Assessment (IOSEA6), which involves a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA) of the Plan for issue of Petroleum Exploration and Production Authorisations in Irish Offshore Waters for the period to 2030.
This Plan will set out the proposed approach to the issuing of petroleum authorisations, and the consideration of the possible offshore exploration activities that could take place under such authorisations, following the decision to end the issuing of licences for new exploration and extraction, and the subsequent placing of this commitment on a statutory footing on commencement of the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Act 2021 on 7 September 2021.
The Plan will provide an operational baseline which can be supplied to exploration companies who hold existing authorisations and are working offshore, against which they can conduct their work and ensure the protection of the marine environment. This will include descriptions of the types of offshore activity that may take place over the duration of the Plan, such as 2D seismic acquisition, 3D seismic acquisition, and drilling of wells.
i'm sure the company does have cash but europa's share of the sidetrack will be more than the £1m loan so I assume they are taking into account existing cash reserves won't be sufficient. and the last thing we want to do is hold anything up on the drill
Ryan won’t accept fracked gas. Ireland gets all gas from UK except corrib. Truss is expected to reverse fracking ban. Ireland gets its gas from UK meaning fracked gas is going down the pipe to Ireland???
There’s only corrib left.
unless we are going in with Egdon/Shell. that would fit given how we already work with egdon.
maybe the wait is due to shell deciding what they are going to do.
we also gave some of the acreage to egdon a few years back with a royalty i think
