Why are you using the ITV board for such political rankings. Just stick to the subject!
I think the more worrying aspect of the whole saga is the rise of Chinese influence. They have already signed a 25 year deal with Iran and if Russia becomes reliant on them then their spread of influence will be huge. Also, don’t forget the Russian economy is tiny and solely reliant on oil and gas so sanctions will definitely have severe consequences.
Absolutely agree with TheThinker. You can see the numbers from the streamers are under pressure with the huge rise in inflation. Viewers will therefore look to FTA providers for their programmes. Also the ITV Studios will continue to produce a growing number of productions for all areas. All in all, ITV future looks very bright and the shares are clearly undervalued even with the recent strength.
This is great news for ITV. It has no effect on advertising revenue and guarantees the licence until 2034. Tom tries to spin everything regarding ITV in a negative light and it would be interesting if he gave an honest answer to the question as to his interest in ITV.
Good upbeat comments by The Naked Trader plus a further purchase of shares at 104p. I’d sooner follow him than Tom!
Tom is forgetting about the large number of people in Uk who either do not have access to the internet, are not computer literate or cannot afford the software or the cost of internet access. Also, surely the demise of the licence fee will be of benefit to other FTA channels, apart from BBC. I think the future for ITV is very bright especially considering the success of their Studios. Most analysts put a fair value for ITV at much nearer £2 than £1.
Just wish ITV would post some really bad news so the price could rise.
Because it’s very undervalued Tom.
I wish Berenberg had named the many peers who are cheaper than ITV.
Did you see the huge advertising fees to be charged for I’m a Celebrity. Massive boost to revenue/profits
Expect some profit taking today before resumption of upward trend towards fair value. Great results and only going to get better.
Schwee we call it clutching at straws or trivial in the extreme
For any other company, these amazing results would be greeted by a 20-30% increase in the share price. However for this grossly undervalued share…who knows!
Please get your facts right Tom. Revenues were rising every year until Dec 2019 when the pandemic hit
NigeCo - fully agree with your comments. Eventually the day will come when there will be a rerating based on fundamentals and all those doom-mongers will get their fingers severely burnt.
The FTSE goes up, ITV goes down. FTSE goes down, ITV goes down.. Brokers upgrade their share forecast, ITV goes down. Analysts upgrade their fair value, ITV goes down. Excellent half yearly results, ITV goes down.
I just hope the share price falls lower from this ridiculous level. When I look at the P/E ratio and future earnings prospects then I will be trying to raise enough cash to buy in as much as possible. This share is just so undervalued it makes no sense at this price. No doubt people who buy in now will make a killing in the medium term. The company is very strong, with profits from advertising and Studios bound to increase as with Britbox revenue. Watch out all you doubters and sellers.
I still have great faith in this share. There is no doubt that it is grossly undervalued and I can see it going up to around 170p in the medium term. Think twice before you jump ship or you may miss a great opportunity.
Why should you worry about demotion from the FTSE 100. When it was promoted the share price fell more than 10%.
I don’t understand what the BOD could do. The revenue and profits are heading for pre-pandemic levels, which puts the P/E ratio at around 10; the level of debt has decreased considerably; itv streaming services are increasing subscribers both here and abroad; the ITV Studios are functioning at close to 100%; dividend will be reinstated shortly ; costs are being cut considerably where possible , to make the company more efficient. It just strikes me that if most companies had these fundamentals in place, their sp would be at least 50% higher than ITV particularly given that the fair value of the ITV share is 176p.
