No offence taken gents. This was one I thought wouldn’t get away. Woodford buying more at £3, sound fundamentals for the future, Mediclinic very interested (still can’t understand their rationale) and still seemingly undervalued. I’ve made about 5% as I did take some profit originally but I’ll see what transpires next. Still got a few unless my stop loss at gets hit.
Just bought a small tranche to average down. I agree too good to miss but I’ll put a stop loss on around £12.50. Not doing a SPI or BT again !!
Well folks, I couldn’t watch it go any further down, so I’ve just sold 60% of my holding for a 2.5% profit. I’ve got a 230p stop loss on the rest. I’ll wait for the bottom and buy back in when it turns. GLA, it’s been a terrible ride !!
I’m not a happy bunny. £3K profit gone down the pan and nearly back to where I started ! Another lesson learnt I suppose, but I’m out at 230p with my stop loss set.
Just bought another tranche. Stuck my toe in the water again to average down. Stroll on the next stage !!!!
Well MDC is taking a battering now. I really can’t understand their offer and subsequent refusal to come in with a second bid. All they have managed to do is unsettle the SP of both companies and manage to lose value in their SPI shares as well as their own. As someone said, a second 330p bid would have cost about £100M - they’ve probably lost that already in the MCAP of both companies since they declared no further interest !! Where do we go from here ?
Well folks, I’ve decided to hang fire. Had my finger on the buy button at £13 but didn’t pull the trigger. Although not a chartist, it is slowly moving towards RSI oversold, MACD crossing over and Williams looking better. Still unsure what to do but this is a bargain for any long term holders at this price, surely ??
IMB looks cheap at the moment as well ?
I’m also ‘stuck’ deep in BT with a 306p average. Didn’t see the dip below £3 and then thought it would bounce back, which it didn’t. I’m contemplating putting more in here as it seems to have hit a plateau now and wait for a new bull run.
10,000 GSK shares ? Wow, you must have some dosh TL !!
Agreed Steve. Made a mistake here not moving out at 300p but near term we may see a new bid. In the long term it’s worth more than current value.
Jeez - aren’t you a ray of sunshine. You got out even and are delighted everyone else missed the boat. Now you expect it to go down further. Happy Xmas to you as well.
I may add at this price. This looks like the low to me but I bought a tranche at £14 after the drop - called that wrong and don’t want to make the same mistake again.
HCA may take a punt ? They know where they need to pitch an offer now ?
Mediclinic officially declare no further offer !! Let’s see how the SP holds up.
FFS - another disastrous decision driven by my own greed. Probably another red day tomorrow unless some news pops up today. Maybe Spire will ask for an extension ? MDC will have to up the price significantly with their shares bombing as well.
Your point being ? I assume you mean it’s been shorted and now we look for the bounce back ?
Apparently Woodford added to his position in Spire at circa £3, which is one of the reasons I held off selling at that price. I recently got out of Woodford’s Patient all square after being in negative territory for 95% of the time. Has he lost his touch is my question. If we don’t get a second bid here, my faith in his judgement is probably gone for the time being. All being said, the SP for this company is not around my average of £2.30, so if a second bid doesn’t come and the SP tanks, I’ll just hold and wait for the recovery or a bid from another player.
Agreed - I was going to halve my holding at £3 and take a nice profit, but got greedy. Not sure how to play it now but can Woodford get it so wrong again ? The open tomorrow will dictate my next move.
Any thoughts on the SP tomorrow morning ? Can’t believe this board is so quiet. Have we all had enough already ?
