Absolutely... but 5-months is a long time for UNESCO to reach such a simple conclusion. I think that we all suspect that Baylan will only grudgingly authorise a mine, when he has exhausted all opportunities or avenues to deny the issuance of the licence in the first place.

I’m not sure what could be done to pressure UNESCO? It’s ironic that random investors contact UNESCO and Swedish ministries for information, and like a leaking sieve, they pass on information, however mundane. And yet when the CEO contacts them, it’s radio silence...

We at least know that UNESCO have received the letter(s) and documents - They have acknowledged receipt.

Absolutely EricDraven... 5-months is outrageous. The questions posed to UNESCO should no more complicated than as follows:

1. Does the proposed mine impact either directly or indirectly in the Laponia World Heritage Site?

2. If yes, how does it impact directly or indirectly On the World Heritage site?

It should be no more complicated than that - But you can guarantee that it will be.

Should Baylan find himself in court, a real one as opposed to the soft ministerial questions he usually faces in parliament, he would have some explaining to do.

They’ve had approximately 5-months to date by my reckoning... admittedly with a further submission in November. We were formally made aware of the referral on the 30th October 2020. In other words, they’ve had plenty of time.

And I live in a UNESCO Geopark, which is admittedly different to a world heritage site, and all manner of exploitation occurs... It surely can’t be that difficult given the distance from Kallak. My great worry is what’s actually been asked of UNESCO?

The Swedish government are setting themselves a dangerous precedent referring internal matters to external agencies.

It’s a lot of noise... and yes, good that Kallak gets a mention - Presumably not as an example of best practice! But the fact remains, we await the input of UNESCO - That will undoubtedly determine our next move.

In the real world, Kallak represents 500 real jobs for local people and contractors. That's 500 real people spending in the local economy, having their children educated locally, buying property and living locally - Much the same with the proposed coal mine in the north east.

The issue with the 'New Green Deals' is that Politicians talk of thousands of job, billions in tax revenue and cleaner environments - It sounds great. But the reality is that this never is realised. People don't need promises of employment in the future, they want to work and provide for their families now. 500 jobs means little to the unemployment figures, but to people in local economies, it means everything. Politicians choose to ignore this fact...

It's difficult to interpret, but it's essentially saying that 'too many cooks spoil the broth', or in this case, Politicians are to stop complicating matters by adding reviews, questions, motions or any other hot-air that they can think of until the 'proposals' are presented on the 22nd June

In essence Lofvën, Baylan and their ilk are so wedded to the Green Party in order to retain power, they individually and collectively fail to take decisions for the greater good, decisions that may disrupt their marriage of convenience - Thus pleasing no-one.

You clearly suggested, as is your want, that investors have been misled, specifically in relation to the fund raise. So again, by suggesting that the gullible (private investors) have somehow been misled, you insinuate that the institutional investors have also been misled. Is that not the case?

There is a certain theatre to your posts, but don’t let the drama get in the way of the facts.

And please do remember, that some have real money invested in this company, and whilst your posts on occasion are insightful, do stick to the facts, and if not, be clear that yours is simply an ‘opinion’ and holds no more weight than any other.
