Sadly this is still the first wave and it’s still accelerating, the second will arrive in the autumn/winter time. As you rightly say, there’s only one way out, test test test. GDRs unique test can make a huge difference globally. Given the volumes needed, hopefully additional manufacturers could be brought in if/when capacity is reached.

Cheer up RD, there’s no harm in a pharma knocking on the door with a bucket load of cash. It’s a nice validation there’s interest in the tech. Ultimately it’s a race and if we don’t win this one, it’s certainly nice to have a chance to be in it. As you’ve said, plenty other irons in the fire whilst it plays out.

Interesting that Sona took a kicking. Didn’t think to check that, it wasn’t the best from them. Flyingmachine said he was on a Sona forum, anyone have a link to see what they thought of the webinar?

I listened to it again yesterday, it’s in the Q&A section.

He said 10k per hour, mentioned 8 hour shifts and said capacity can be increased. A few quick calcs with a margin of 60% produces some great numbers. Here’s hoping demand contracts exceed supply, it’d be a wonderful problem to have.

Watch the presentation back and relax a bit. DB set out exactly what he thought the newsflow would be and what he thought would be worthy of putting in an RNS. The market will be updated when it’s impactful, a constant stream just to stop people wetting the bed would not be beneficial. While I’m on, stop asking for sales info, he said that would be in July. Also, don’t expect anything spectacular initially, they’re still getting approvals, the big numbers will be on their way. Patience.

I’m sure there are fewer issues with drooling on a stick than the govt sending out swabs in the post... terrible sampling for all tests has been an issue throughout.

A lot of the ‘problems’ that Klaus rattled out could have equally applied to any testing, including the 100% tests that are not effective at anywhere near 100% due to poor samples. He also made a pigs ear of discussing false positives, it’s no concern whatsoever. The govt are doing a terrible job of track and trace, but that currently isolates anyone that has been in contact - this is the equivalent of a very large false positive rate. People are already isolating for potentially no reason.

I currently see nothing but positives from last night, the only negative is that a few impatient people will unfortunately have to be patient

In conclusion we’ve got Sona flapping a bit, Awacta confident, in fact they know they can do it and everyone agreed it’s really difficult for anyone else.

Capacity constraints will be the main challenge, yes, that’s negative but it’s true. We won’t be able to make as many as the huge demand.
