graking, Right Sizing basically means having the right type/size of Aircraft to suit the different variables of runway length, distance, number of passengers and frequency of out and back capability for Business Travellers avoiding overnight stay. In using Airbus 319 we had to reduce frequency, so as to not fly with too many empty seats, Whereas in Zimbabwe when we changed to ERJ145 we can now manage 4 rotations a day which is ideal. As it gets busier, having achieved good number of rotations, right sizing would then in this case mean moving up to a E190. Right Sizing might also mean using a Turbo Prop or small Jet which can land on a busy but shorter runway or Airports that we currently cannot service with 319's. So Right Sizing means getting the closest match between requirements and capability.

Looks like an entry problem in attaching the flight file to the wrong entry. The Flight that looks to have gone to Arusha did in fact to a final right hand turn to land at Kilimanjaro as scheduled, but the flght number was incorrectly attached , which indicated it was the Dar-to Mbeya flight number. Just an Entry Problem.

That once we have got rid of the last of the Airbuses in September/October that there will be a substantial cost saving on being able to use African Pilots and not needing Expats with very expensive pay, accommodation and periodic return home costs, as we will not need their specific Airbus skills. This should have a sizeable impact on the Final Quarter and thereafter.

Move of Nico to buy outright the title to the name Fastjet from Stelios at the time, as I am sure that it would have cost more now, now that things are moving on, and a lot lot more next year. If we were to recommence Dar - JNB we would have to use FJD to go the distance until the E190's arrive and use the ERJ-145 for inter Tanzania flights.

Very Helpful towards our 4th Quarter Break Even, Shame we cannot benefit in Tanzania whilst we have the bigger Airbus from something similar. Just as well however that we have 4 flights a day for more new customers to Experience Fastjet.

Welcome Also Jasbir, In my view (an investor since 2012) we shall be in a better position to answer that in Nov/Dec with a view on 2018. My reasoning is that we are still using the Legacy Airbus the last of which is due to depart in Late Sept/Oct when we will be using 2 E190 aircraft from Solenta. We will then be increasing the rotations to former schedule with smaller aircraft. I think that once we have viewed the success of that in increased pax and prices we can then take a view on the future. we need to see if the lower prices currently are due to lack of Rotation flexibility, Out and Back or increased success by Government sponsored Air Tanzania. We are however doing very well in Zimbabwe but need to see Tanzania get back to its former glory to make a valid assessment. Failing that, we shall have to add new Countries/Routes to grow at the rate we want.

We knew about this a month ago, they just have now got the rights to allow passengers on at Harare and Lusaka when the Aircraft lands from Dar, the bonus is we are landing there anyway so no extra costs for landing fees or staffing, just fuller occupancy and if successful the chance to increase frequency. it is also a Fastjet Tanzania Aircraft not a Fastjet Zimbabwe although it lands there.

The article implies that this is a Fastjet Zimbabwe route, when in fact it is a Fastjet Tanzania route, just allowing passengers to get on in both directions on flights that landed there anyway from Lusaka and Harare to Dar.

As I said a couple of weeks ago, when will African Countries follow the West's Lead and not try to maintain Bottomless Pit Money Traps know as State Financed Airlines. Instead of being an expense, they like Western Countries could have independent Airlines paying Taxes resulting in better service, better connectivity, better prices and income instead of expenditure. The effect of these changes will not only make life cheaper and easier for Local Residents, but allow inter-Country business to flourish for the Benefit of the whole of Africa. They must not let the Perceived Pride in having a National Airline Cloud their judgement of what is in the best interests of the Countries Overall.
