Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
To all the investors past and present who have been shafted by the Tanzanian Government. The Joke of open skies and calculated and deliberate plan to de-stabilise and collapse the competition by any means is a disgrace.
The losers apart from us is surely the Tanzanian People who can look forward to higher prices and reverting to the poor level of service, now that the competition has been knocked out of the ballpark.
We can only hope that Mozambique and Zimbabwe are the springboard for Countries that want us and want their population to benefit from our presence.
I hope that the Tanzanian Government get voted out as I am sure that they will have destroyed any possibility of any Countries risking investing in such a corrupt and without morals Government.
It would be be no great victory to be left the crumbs, after being Governmentally Shafted at every turn to prevent success . Our share holders having financially supported Tanzanian passengers and employment for 6 long years to create an effective, on time Airline, and set up the business for someone else's benefit.
Share holders, and potential investors beware of investing in Africa as it is not a level playing field and Normal Business Practices do not apply.
We Have Been Used, Allowed to meet the Cost and Denied the Benefit
FJI has still not returned from Nairobi
Anyone know if this was just another charter to defray costs ?
Why are we just not adding Quelimane and keeping NAMPULA which seemed to be doing well, after all the population of Nampula is twice the population of Quelimane. So the question is why not just add Quelimane and KEEP Nampula ?
flew to Cape Verde Praia off the West coast of Senegal ? maybe a sub charter ?
Also looks like we have discontinued all flights to LUN
Looks like we have now cancelled the Midweek DAR-HRE flights now.
Fjetcrazy .My Thoughts exactly, how many times do you need to be reigned in by the powers that be before learning to be more cautious next time, 3 apparently.
But even if you are testing the water to see if they are as good as indicated, you do it with 1 new aircraft, when it is accepted and operating, you can take another, when that is accepted and operating you can take the 3rd.
It should have been apparent to even the cleaning lady that this was a risk too far. In 40 years running my own Business I have never taken such a rash decision as this.
Maybe with someone else's money and with the benefit of $400k salary anyway, he was too quick to try rapid expansion to reach the share options and threw caution to the wind.
We have been sabotaged by the Government of Tanzania who have deliberately arranged for delays and refusals to benefit the State Funded Airline. This is not a level playing field and Open Skies are a joke.
The aim seems to be to drive us out of Tanzania, then the State Sponsored Airline can revert to normal practice and put up prices and let the people of Tanzania suffer.
Nico was complicit in this endeavour by stupidly believing indications of agreements that were not irrevocable and by committing to not 1 at a time but unbelieveably 3 at once of the ATR's any sensible person with their own money at risk would have only taken 1 at a time after each bedded in and profitable.
WE Have been Stuffed by the Tanzania Government and Management Stupidity.
Last Few Days , and no response or update from Nico ?
Exists only in Talks, as actually no progress seems to have been made as The Countries Leaders are prepared to support loss making State Airlines and deliberately withhold routes to competitors to try to make them un-economic and hope they will throw in the towel and give up.
In this way the State Airlines could continue with their outdated, in-efficient, over staffed, Airlines with friends in positions of Authority.
There is no Prestige in losing millions to vanity Airlines. Follow the rest of the World and let private enterprise keep down the cost of flying so that the ordinary citizens can afford to travel by Air Too.
It has been clear to me for some time that we should have been looking to expand outside Tanzania as was our stated intention. We have been, under the present regime treated unfairly with aid and financial support to the State Airline and are not playing on a level playing field. We desperately need to lessen the reliance on a single Country and spread the risk, by increasing the number of Countries/Destinations that we serve.
If we are laying off staff and only need to use one E190, What on Earth are we going to use the extra 3 ATR Aircraft, which we have presumably been paying for, for six months without a single paying passenger on them to my knowledge.
Fastjet I am pleased that we have impressed some of our customers. What I am saying is the business operation, use of resources, timely commitment to Aircraft in sync with new routes and growth, and keeping investors updated , Is NOT IMPRESSIVE
IT Certainly is not shareholders, One E190 not used, 3 ATR not used and sitting at Tolouse for 6 months with no indication as to what is happening to them. I am sure if they are costing someone money for non use, it is unfortunately US.
NO News is not GOOD NEWS
I'm Glad someone is VERY IMPRESSED
He seems to be as Elusive as the Scarlett Pimpernell, nothing happens for ages, things we are told are going to happen, Don't start. We do not seem to get any news any more between results ?
Investors need to have information !
In Fact, Never since the start of Fastjet has there been less news for investors to discuss in chat rooms.
It seems it is working but just not getting used much as FJI has done the overnighter to HRE tonight.
Well we had better get our finger out and get these ATR's Going way before then or we could be too late.
But again left in the dark as to what is happening or progress. If we are only using or only have available 1 aircraft for 3 months I certainly hope we have a spare or can use an ATR ( of which we have 3 unused) as in the event of aircraft problems we will have no flights out of Tanzania.
