The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Having an African CEO and basing Headquarters in South Africa has made no difference to greasing the wheels of officialdom as it was when managed from Gatwick. Maybe the officials responsible are still hoping for the traditional means of greasing the wheels to get things done on time.
That the new (poor so far) website does not have a percentage on time or Delays and cancellations box on the front page of our website, so as to not have highlighted how many people we are letting down and annoying with constantly cancelling flights at the moment. Where is our Backup Plan Or do we not have one ?
Once Again the Majority of Social Media has been predominately filled with complaints of late cancellations, no reply to emails and promise never to fly with Fastjet Again. WE MUST DO BETTER ! We must make sure the second E190 FJI, flys on schedule from day one bookings with no late changes or cancellations. Every Time this happens (probably around 6 times), we apologise but do not compensate for lost time, lost bookings of other parts of the trip and disappointment. We will not get many more chances with some people and need to improve.
I Take it this Rigmarole for E190 is only for the first one on our Tanzania Fleet and we will not need to go through it again for FJI so that it can start on the scheduled date ?
The Country Will Never Never see the potential with Taxes more than 3 times the cost of the Ticket. It is an absolute disgrace to treat your citizens as a cash cow. They should study the Laffer Curve which shows a lower rate of tax takes a higher total of taxation with more people paying less tax each.
according to me only showing LUN to HRE flights but NOT showing flights from HRE to LUN
Taxes at 300%+ of Airfare as they seem to be in Mozambique are so totally unfair on the travelling public in Mozambique. There would be a riot in the UK if Taxes such as these applied in the UK. It makes our 70% Duty/VAT on Petrol seem cheap. If the Country really want's to encourage Tourism it needs to get real on these punitive taxes. (at least Dick Turpin wore a mask and you knew you were being robbed)
Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon all showing sold out both flights are they really sold out or CANX or one flight only full ? We really desperately need to have 2 E190 available ASAP it will be better when we have more availability with more routes and aircraft so a smaller percentage of Total Tanzania flights are scrubbed.
I don't like to be negative but unless there are more changes to be made, I prefer our old website to the new one. At present there do not seem to have as many cross selling opportunities such as hotels, car parking etc. It is also not visual enough with use of pictures. Maybe it is deliberately simple for people using a site to book tickets for the first time ?
I am afraid that the new Big Saver or Achiever fares http://bulawayo24.com/index-id-business-sc-companies-byo-120518.html seem far too complicated with different route variables. Simple is Best.
JT16 What I thought Frankly Bizarre was how you managed to misinterpret what I said. If you had studied all my previous posts in depth you would have realised that I was saying that just like a big Company like Ryanair who made a management mistake causing untold inconvenience to a large number of people, an unplanned Aircraft breakdown can also cause immense inconvenience. In both cases those affected mostly will soon forget when things are back to normal and will not break either Airline. People soon return to them when normal service resumes when compared to the alternative. At no point did I compare Airlines, just the effect people being let down by Airlines causes.
LOOK how many people Ryanair has enraged. Our operation in Zimbable has been Unaffected as has all the people who did not fly this week. They know this bad service is unusual for us but usual for other airlines in Africa. This was a one year plan, much has been achieved. Let us not turn back when the summit is in sight
It Looks like FJH E190 did a test flight/Demo on 22nd From /To Dar
Africa should learn from the West that Airlines with State involvement become a Bottomless Money Pit. No matter how many times they get bailed out, reset debts to Zero they will once again lose money and within a short period of time, be back where they started. The Biggest Madness is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Almost every Country I can think of has profitable non State involved airlines, but I cannot think of any State Involved Airline that does not run at a significant Loss that would sink a Private Company. There is No Prestige to running a Loss Making State involved Airline just Embarrassment .
HRE-LUN now added to destination map So I hope that means it can be expected again shortly for booking
Thank You Rufiji for your enlightening overview.
now updated to show Mozambique. If we could just re-instate Malawi and Add Botswana, it looks very impressive that we have East Africa good Coverage
Delighted but what about Pemba, in the current edition of Places we say we will also be flying from Maputo to Pemba. Also the other Countries we serve who have a need to visit Mozambique will wonder why we have no connections from our main Bases and have flights to Maputo from DAR, HRN and JNB to complete the circle for onward Travel.
It seems that they have done what we suggested, to not start the 3rd Mwanza flight and to use that capacity to do the Mbeya flight. Still no word on HRE-LUN being able to book again. Don't know if we still have not had the permissions to do it, or for some other reason.
