Ben Richardson, CEO at SulNOx, confident they can cost-effectively decarbonise commercial shipping. Watch the video here.
Very significant campaign now being orchestrated by the renewable energy industry to support hydrogen production from renewable energy , via electrolysis... and ITM is the global technology leader... fantastic!
Staggering! As if we had any doubt on the massive potential for ITM !

FOMO hasn’t started yet
Nice press release from ITM on their hydrogen stations

RNS Mentions the word Giga watt ! https://www.itm-power.com/news/green-hydrogen-for-humberside-project-deployment-study
I have top 5... all I focus on post virus recovery, and of course Avacta Intrinsic and top of them..
In order of potential
Avacta
ITM
Nuformix
BIDS
Just hope Avacta can deliver ASAP for every reason under the sun!
Great collaboration moving forwards!

Effective for what? If they mean just making electrons for the grid, then makes sense.
They have since announced with ITM and Phillips66 and UK gov funding large scale wind to hydrogen. That makes perfect sense and is frankly the only way we’re going to mitigate climate change. ITM is essential!
Well I see electrolysis as the only way big oil & gas can truly future proof itself ... its a race, and ITM is in the thick of it , example article below

Heavy Industry in the Humber great green answer... read it all fantastic article on ITM!
ITM can produce Green hydrogen onsite! The dirty gas companies have to shift blue brown grey fossil hydrogen by road..Actually good for ITM

The EU should set a target for green hydrogen to push gas out of the market and help the continent reach net-zero emissions by 2050, according to the vice-president of the European Investment Bank (EIB). He says “ ... there is no other route to Netzero”

This provides the route to 100MW scale and beyond. No other electrolyser company has this defined scale up with technology, Industrial market partners, demonstration and funded support. It also shows engagement and interest from another global oil major, let alone the continued collaboration with Orsted. I love it!
Sorry meant to type 2 to 4 hrs
Hellie
Correct, but electrolysers are much better than power in , power out storage such as batteries, as there is no incremental cost of storage capacity with time. Where as a battery doubles in cost if one doubles the duration of storage , say from 3 to 4 hours, electrolysers just convert power to gas and the cost per MWh is the same whether the conversion is for an hour, a day, s month , a year... and so seasonal storage is possible.
Not to mention via the green hydrogen vector, electrolysers offer a pathway whereby renewable energy can decarbonise industrial sectors and processes that renewable power cannot reach. Chemicals, steel, refineries, glass, heavy mobility, etc etc...Perfect solution and only way to get to Net Zero!
Market pull for ITMs products is going to be massive
Preliminary calculations by ENTSO-E and ENTSOG (the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity and Gas, respectively) show that the demand for clean hydrogen would require “in the order of 300-800TWh of renewables feeding into electrolysers by 2050”.
