argus1 it is simple. ukog has an Mcap of what some £40M and has some 32% of HHDL. alba has 11.8% of HHDL and is worth £7M. so in simple terms (if we assume all of alba value is in the HH value and the rest is worthless), then ukog's HH stake is worth no more than 32/11.8 times £7M. shall we cal that £19M... so what does ukog have that is worth the extra 50% on the Mcap? ( pls dont say BB is worth shedloads..) is every other asset alba own worthless? (i think not) why do BBM's act so thick? (cause they are)

hur is very interesting. without question if all goes to plan they have shedloads and more oil..but the mcap is putting values to the potential that look hopeful..but in 12 months could look under valued. as declared on that BB i am out currently - they hate me a a result (oh and also for selling on the peak / buying back and selling..and highlighting dieriches murder)

i understand that! but the market grows and hence the % oily does not go down ..it is forecast to..but only as gas increases..meanwhile we have shedloads of discovered gas and FLNG will see that resource developed..

i agree renewable are coming.. have been for many years..i read energy world (energy institute rag each month) with interest and disinterest.. renewables (as we know then - wind and solar in the main..forget waste to energy as far too small even if my fees to build are very nice thankyou!)) have a limit on a grid..until fast reaction large batteries are real we will need big spinning generators (i.e. nucs or conventional thermal) on the bars..or we change society to accept power is not on demand! by the way- what generates that elec car power into the grid at night when you want to charge it?

now being a complete cynic i have to wonder if KSA are making very sure (to be sure) aramco float flys...

renewables are part of the equation..but are not the answer to an ex oily world just yet. china and india want cars / we have planes to fly and ships to sail and plastics (for the time being). will not even start on spinning reserve on grids and night time and no wind etc etc. the key question is - are we at a disruption point of power / transport tech. i think not and will not be for some many years..

on oilers..given my track record of selling (fog for example ..AA will recall!) . i suggest all pile into ela in the morning..i sold mine today after a nice run from end of last year...

if you recall i posted (amongst much shite!!!) some many many months back the rational for $150 oil was real..i remain of the view, in fact the chance has increased perhaps 10 fold in three months.. what is the usa pillock doing turning off the iran taps and trying to screw venz at the same time as demanding lower oil prices..lets not start on spare capacity....
