it is my opinion (and only that) that the reason the sp moved up was the daily mail comments. i have seen this before - it is a widely read paper and could have caused an early rush. of course it is all linked to the chevron news. then of course the autobots kick in..the really interesting thing will be if the sp holds outside of its prior range. it seams to be drifting back down, but we will see.

jvernikos raised the itheca t/o (i was in that one and was equally disappointed). the parallel would be kero taking out hur on the cheap. i think this is unlikely as kero are a private equity fund looking to make investments, not a listed co looking to grow. (it is different even if i can not explain clearly!) so kero's business model seems to be largely based on taking strategic stakes (not always, but often) - they would totally undermine their business model if they sort to take out hur. of course RB & pelham if effect form the nucleus of a block to kero! so i would suggest an "insider" takeout would need both kero and one of the other main shareholders to do a deal. not impossible but unlikely i would suggest.

regarding the comments about t/o on the cheap. i think this is total nonsense. any t/o (or sale of major asset base such as lancs) would be a class 1 transaction so would need shareholder approval at 75% of voting shares. given that a "large voting turnout" would be 60 to 80% of the total shares, the kero 22% (plus warrants? i can not recall the detail) is in effect a blocking stake.

kero's background is as a fund that took a large slice of II money into a private equity fund. one of the key backers is blackstone who stated in the public domain in 2015, they were putting cash into private equity to buy oily assets on a 10 year view. so i would suggest kero have little incentive to sell at less than full value and no requirement to raise cash anytime soon (unless of course we get another 2008 type financial crash).

i would suggest the kero stake controls asset sale / t.o timing more than another issue on the hur side of a deal. (oil price is of course on the other side of the deal).

now i do not agree with all they post. but the disagreements lead to understanding two sides (or more!) of part of an investment case.

mainshare. where is your evidence that AKER AIBEL are spending any time or money on nuog / MFDevco potential deals? and lets assume they are doing something, then is the input material to them? i am sure like many reading this BB, i have run cos for many years..i "input" to many potential projects each year and always have done. some are a 1% chance and some a 50% chance of order intake..i input in accordance with my likely return. i am sure all other business owners / senior managers reading this BB do the same.

i read that post seadog..now i will freely admit i have not checked the reporting dates and the cash burn rates..but i would put to you the chances of a deal that funds the nuog plc costs without another placing is very slim.

of course you nor i know as fact if a placing will happen, but anyone on your side of the financial assessment is putting there cash at risk on the bod's words only - and even then they used the word "avoid" dilution. there is no evidence of any MFDevco "deal", without even thinking about a self funding deal!

in my view he is nothing but a paid pie eater..more pies equals more positive ****e..(look no further than the no gasser). i follow as i think his role to cos is clear..sometimes useful.. for example rkh are being very low key currently the pie eater (the great independent nothing to do with the co) is being very vocal..i see a link. i have looked at president but not in much detail. would have to look again but i think SL will cause a "wobble" in either relationships or investor sentiment to main land, but £95M mcap for 2100boepd does have some attraction..
