thought i would add my pennys worth this O/T discussion (it is the weekend). both uog and rbd have exposure to coulter drill. to comment on that. wytch farm is big any any reasonable measure (other than rona ridge!). do big oil fields exist in isolation (not often?). coulter has discovered resource, but can it be commercial via the updip drill? of course the rig will be visiable from the shore (great for the kind of BBM posting rollocks one finds on some onshore expo / apr drills). could be fun.
on ricfle's point re rbd being a mini kero - yep 100% agree and why i chose rbd over uog. but that does not make uog a bad investment.
the only downside for me is the malcy promote (who works on pies consumed in my view provided by others)..but i think more believe him to impart good info than bad..so irritating as it may be then no bad thing to wealth creation as a shareholder.

I find it somewhat interesting that biffadog insults me ( post since deleted) then posts about ca fund to say I was wrong in facts I stated. You then corrected him with fact..then he posted it was not important... um interesting. I think we have seen this type of posting on this bb before...several times in fact. What motivates some posters? One can only wonder.

As starbright has told you mm accumulation is a work of fiction spouted by many on lse ramped stocks but no where else.

Boyzee has explained how the trading works and why there are no AT trades...

Ca have no hard rules on % nav in one stock. They have guidance (25 or30% I can not recall). Only my guess but I think the ca bod have increased the application of the guide since the warrant cockup when ca stepped in and lost money on the transaction.

that is my best guess for (shall we call it) found & flow tested but not fully appraised on a sale basis following EPS "success". now how one measures "success" is a matter that has been discussed, and i would argue the very detailed pressure data etc etc which confirms the resi model to a 3rd party (super major(s)) (and to be frank is likely far too technical for us on the BB, other than in outline principle) will be a very large part of "success". one could argue for a high valuation on lancs at that stage as it would be further and better proven (hence the potential to tie back other fields has the attraction doc T has alluded to).

mogger. thks for the response and background info, always good to get context on that type of info. i would have to say i have seen the potential OM monies as fully discounted in the current SP and my thinking - pure bonus if it happens!

the MS appointment was very clearly a good move for hur in the long term - all part of the "new corporate governance" that was discussed in times past. who else is better connected to kero's backers / private equity / energy sector bond holders / (s)majors etc..kero defacto control any sale (at least as things stand on equity).

for the future of all BBM's ...how can they feed themselves and buy nice things for the house with this news? (time to buy shares in payday lenders?)

agreed (hence the use defacto!).but would have to be the highest turnout in quoted stock history all voting against kero! in practice what bidder would spend the cash on a non-supported by kero bid? not a (s)major that's for sure (kero's backers are big buyers of (s)major's bonds!).

are kero going to sell out cheap (esp given their backers statements on investing in kero?) - i think not. (and this influences my view on any need / return for investing long term right now (but i respect and have no problem for those that do!).

i agree and have pointed out several times kero have a defacto blocking shareholding to any class 1 transaction.

by definition have not all holders made that choice based on the evidence for and against achieving a return?

seadoc..is that not the sum for gross margin, not profit? allow for corporate overheads (and the balance sheet asset value write back of capitalised costs) and i think you will find the payback period is far far long based on the portland only..infinity would be closer than 73 years..

i bet you enjoy the talk about "octopus pads" for the portland as much as i do given the cpr statements....
