In answer to your initial question to me earlier, Yes of course I hope the share price rises. If you had asked me whether I think it will rise substantially this year, then the answer would be No.
I will give you my thoughts on what I think will happen, and my reasoning as to why, over the coming days and weeks. I am not dodging the questions only I don't want to bore you too much today. But as a preamble to these further posts I would just add this, and forgive me, this is more for any newbies who be be unaware :
Our two directors are businessmen (I know Rubey, I'm stating the bleeding obvious) as well as also very adept salesmen.
As businessmen their prime motivation is to make money and plenty of it, for themselves. Shareholders are a necessary conduit to that end. This conduit has 'tee pieces' which provide a regular income( in the case of S&S approx £0.5M per annum plus shares etc) so time is not an inhibiting factor. Some would point out they also put monies into the business as directors. It's easy to forget however that actually these monies are almost always shareholders funds that are just redirected via a third party back into the pot; another conduit analogy.
Shareholders are akin to maintenance engineers in a production environment. As one director of a large company said to me once "they are a necessary evil who can cause us problems at times, but we do need them". It's therefore always worth remembering the directors are not running the company for altruistic reasons, and that also in the last resort of failure, very many directors of smaller companies have very carefully made personal provisions for that eventuality.
