cloves, if you read my 'Gathering Storm' posts on all the companies associated and many underwritten now by RBD you would know. In other words do your own research, lazy!

Selfish.....this losing out on funding from Rathlin is predicated on West Newton being a 'success'. That is far from certain and how much of a success does it have to be? Not answered by Rathlin for obvious reasons. Councillors are there to undertake their constituents wishes, and not take any other experts advice as sacrosanct (most people were fed up to the back teeth of experts in the Brexit saga and look how wrong they were).

cloves, the vote is more important to them, to keep them on the gravy train. If it costs the council in the long run (after appeals perhaps) remember it's not their money.
As for a placing, the company has many more subsidiary companies to prop up now, and that is where much of the money raised may have to go. Check out recent raises where it mentions other ventures. West Newton is not their only concern at present albeit their most urgent one.

I accept what you say cloves, but remember the Tories are predominately NIMBY's. I wonder how many live in the nearby area, or have voters who do.

Should the Planning committee vote in favour of the application then that would probably be the most judicious time to announce the placing. If the committee rejects the planning application then the upcoming placing would be delayed.
