The fashion e-commerce company is embarking on a project to bring into use several empty warehouses it owns at the Heasandford Industrial Estate in Burnley.

Boohoo owns 3.1m sq ft of land and property at its distribution centre on Widow Hill Road, including the former headquarters of mining and metals manufacturer Multi Weldmesh and automotive firm TRW.

danl90 - I'm the one who bought 360,000 Boohoo shares in 2015, held them through every up and down and will be holding them for many years to come. That takes vision, courage and patience.

If you’re invested in great businesses that continue to grow and earn more money, don’t let lulls in the share price and boredom scare you out of them.

If you don’t understand the business, that makes it a lot harder to hold. Then you’re subject more to innuendo and all the gossip that goes on in a market and if you don’t understand it, somebody writes a column that’s critical of a company and telling you why it’s not going to work, you’re going to believe it and you’re going to sell it.

But if you know the business and you understand it, you will be able to say, “Well, this article maybe made some good points but I know X, Y and Z and I’m going to hang on to it.”

So a big part of getting the 100-bagger is discipline, being able to hold on to stocks in the face of a lot of volatility.

The global fashion market is worth US$2.25trillion. And, you don't think Boohoo could be a 100 bagger from here. How many have thought that about other 100 baggers?

Here are some that gained 50-100 times. They are BTG, CLS, Clarkson, Cranswick, Dechra Pharmaceuticals, Diploma, Grainger, Rotork, Paddy Power, St Modwen and Savills.

As many as 65 companies increased between 20-50 times. And a further 82 have gone up at least 10-fold at some point since the mid-1980s.

In total that means that 171 companies or nearly 50% of the current crop of 350 major quoted UK companies has at some point gone up by 8% per annum. Enough to turn every £10,000 into £100,000 over the time period.

That doesn't include any AIM Companies.

Billybob15 - I'm pleased to see you're looking at Boohoo. If you had read the full FT article about a possible US ban, then you would have read that there was little chance of it happening.. It's about knowing the business you're invested in through and through.

Berenberg initiated coverage of Boohoo at 'buy' on Monday even as it conceded that shares of the scandal-hit fast-fashion retailer are "not for the faint-hearted".
The bank said Boohoo shares have de-rated dramatically in comparison with peers since reports of failings in its Leicester supply chain in July last year.

However, it also noted the group has begun to make changes to the working practices in its supply chain. Berenberg said there were some additional steps it would like the retailer to take but that importantly, it reckons Boohoo can make changes while maintaining its sector-leading growth and margin profile.

The bank, which set a price target of 460p, forecast revenue compound annual growth of 27% in the coming three years.

"We do not think that the supply chain changes are likely to affect the group's competitive advantages materially, and we show that negative publicity over summer 2020 had no noticeable impact on consumer sentiment," it said.

"Furthermore, we estimate that the recent acquisitions of the Arcadia brands and Debenhams could generate a circa 10% tailwind to FY22 growth, with upside risk, and Boohoo's free cash flow to equity generation in the coming three years could enable it to acquire c£900m of revenues."

Pmoran1969 - danl90 talks a good story. That is his job, that's what he's employed to do in his work/career, so he's good at it. It doesn't mean he's right.

He was the one who brought up cardfactory on the boohoo chat page. So I decided to take a look.

Having looked at cardfactory's business and read about it, I read danl90's comments on it, I was extremely concerned that people on here weren't being given the true picture of cardfactory. That's wrong.

This is coming from a good place on my part too.

I do appreciate your concerns about me and I genuinely thank you for them.

I would love to see you all double your money or triple your money on cardfactory. However, you need to know the risks of cardfactory and more importantly, you need to open your mind to them.

Billybob15 - if it was a growth business then the net profit would have grown despite the pound going down against the dollar, despite overheads and despite national minimum wage increases. Online has grown exponentially but not at Cardfactory. You expect net profit to get back to where it was in 18 months. For me, that sounds like wishful thinking on your part.

Billybob15 - no nefarious reasons at all. I don't like it when people like yourself use accountancy language and terms to bull up a share that shouldn't be bulled up at all.

Sampsun50 - you should have known all this already before you invested in Cardfactory. And if you didn't know it, why not? It's all out there. Net profits have been going down each year from 2016 whilst at the same time dividends were being increased and debt was being retained and not paid off. What does that tell you?
