It's high performance through lln economic cycles that count. Daily share price fluctuations don't count. Those are for people looking to make small amounts of money. The huge money is made backing the likes of Boohoo.

Herkittykitty - Boohoo is a 100 bagger. You've got caught up in the day to day at present. You're making the same mistake as too many people. You're looking at the share price daily and not at the future growth.

You're too caught up in making small amounts of money that you can't see how to make huge money by buying and holding Boohoo shares.

The month to month is because it can't get refinance. Waken up. If it was a great business then it would have no problem getting refinance.

If you want to make money on shares then you buy shares in a company with an entrepreneurial founder, who has become a billionaire from his own company, who wants to grow the company more and more.

The saying tie your coat tails to a rising star springs to mind.

Don't get bogged down in the day to day fluctuations of the share price because you know the company is going places and will get there.

Don' think you're missing out on other shiny share price rises elsewhere because you'll end up missing the growth here. It'll come. Patience is needed and loads of it.

Ignore the doomers and gloomers who have no morals and no ethics and are trying to get the share price down to buy in or to buy back in.

A track record of high performance is a useful indicator. Winners tend to remain winners. This makes sense, since high performance usually comes from some competitive advantage. And these advantages do not tend to "disappear overnight.”

Investors get bored when they see the share price doing nothing. Boredom is good. Just keep your eye on the prize: hundredfold returns are not boring.

Many of the 100 baggers in the past had top-management teams that made good capital decisions about how to invest company resources. There was often a large shareholder or an entrepreneurial founder involved. These can overcome the growth hurdle.

Mahmud Kamani knows how to use capital by buying brands cheap from administration and making them profitable within two years. He did this with the US brand Nasty Gal. He'll do it with the new brands. He'll make sure it's done with the new brands acquired.

Struggling retailer Card Factory has been given an extra month to negotiate with its lenders after recently warning it was facing financial distress due to lockdowns.

Earlier this month, the company had warned it would likely breach its bank covenants on a £200million loan by the end of January after sales tumbled as its stores were forced to shut down during lockdowns.

But today it said it lenders have agreed to provide waivers until February 2021 on the anticipated breach of the company's banking covenants.

I've managed to read some of this book tonight, so the comments below are some of the ideas from it. And here's another one:-

Thomas Phelps wrote, “Be not tempted to shoot at anything small,” the idea being you want to focus your capital on stocks with the potential to return 100x. You don’t want to own a zoo of stocks and ensure a mediocre result.

The exact mix of things may be a mystery, patched together after the fact to explain a result. The most important idea, though, is that the people calling the shots have personal capital at risk. That’s the unique attribute that runs through all these stories. That’s the secret behind the money.

The professors list many other attributes of success: low costs, modest borrowings, profits throughout economic cycles, low turnover among senior executives and an attention to providing incentives to all stakeholders. “The combined effect,” the professors write, “when done well, provides explosive wealth creation for all organization stakeholders.”
