We've had this conversation OS - when I accused you (a little unfairly perhaps) of bleating like a little girl when you didn't sell your shares last time it rallied. It has now doubled from the lows and given your eeyore like state, surely you should countenance selling a few in case this is a glorious ramp and dump?! or are you actually like the rest of us?

If you - Techie - think a Tesla buyout is a probability which do you think is the most likely :
A) A buyout at 3p
B) A buyout at 6p
C) A buyout at 12p
Because to be honest for a company who’s SP has quintupled this year all the above numbers are irrelevant as even at 12p CPX is worth less than £100m! So whilst i’d agree Elon hasn’t got rich paying the wrong price for businesses, i doubt that if the IP is what Tesla wants they will argue the toss over a few ££. And given the directors have been paid in stock for the past few years i’d argue they’d be pushing for a 12p buyout rather than receive Tesla stock when its trading at a PE of a 1000!!

you go away for a few days and find this board full of fly by nights and spivs talking about $100mm settlement from a man who knows a man who knows a dog! So what will happen, as always with AIM shares is this will have a couple of days in the sun, the day traders will get bored when no news is forthcoming the SP will drift back and we can get back to wondering why the company doesn’t tell us anything!
What’s different is the future - with a v real chance of a positive FCF, a growing order book and an IP that’s safe. So let the spivs have their fun and be there for them when they want to sell their shares back at 3p which seems to me to be the place to play this most exciting of little companies for a long term bet on IOT. And if we get a deal with Tesla then great. But it’s at the v low end of my expected probabilities for CPX and isn’t the reason why i’m invested.

Sarniasharie - what a great post! I think you must be me in disguise...almost to the exact running losses and longer term view but an ability to say what I think much more cogently and more sensibly!!! I still own an awful lot of shares and but for CPX my overall portfolio has clawed back its Covid inspired losses! But we said 2021 is pay day so its got time....even if i was premature (not for the first time?!) in my stake building.

back after a few days away and apart from my outburst at OS (for which slight apologies but you were being a little girl...) seems like most of us expecting better times ahead. Reading through all the posts a few things that strike me :
Its not up to AK at what price an agreed bid would be accepted...its the shareholders. the board I think hold less than 10% and whilst there are a few players on aim who'd sell their grandmother for a few ££ I think the institutional shareholders who have invested at 8p and 3p and in between would want a healthy premium especially given the vastly improved future prospects.
I mentioned the 20-25p bid the other day - I am pretty comfortable with my source's info.
Technically - as Kencarv says we're looking quite pretty...
So, despite the fact that I had to sell a few shares this am (apologies) I remain actually really quite positive here and still think a 10-15p 1yr time horizon quite achievable.

what on earth do you mean ‘I wish i could get my money back?’....investing is a grown up business OS! The shares traded as high as 4.30 on Friday and you could have sold then. Now you bleat as they return to 3p how it’s the same old story?!?!
No it’s not - what hasn’t changed is investor behaviour- especially in AIM - where every jumps in the bandwagon and as soon as the band stops playing jumps off and moves in to the next fast story.
What has changed is a legal judgement giving CPX $5mm and every reason to believe it’s IP is safe. Elon can’t just stamp on CPX because of its size ...the investment case now has IP infringement plus Murata build out plus its existing business which it can grow at a much cheaper cost because of Murata.
The shares flying between 2p and 5p ignore the potential which i continue to say is either lose it all or 20p plus. Enjoy the ride but please don’t bleat like a little girl saying i want my money back!’.

The 20-25p offer was a story i mentioned a while back and tbh was the reason i first invested back at 11p...we r talking 2-3 years ago...nothing to do with Maxwell/Tesla.

They sold - what - £3mm of shares at 3p = 100milllion.. It’s languished at 2.5p on no news and u get a chance to sell at 4p...that’s where they came from!

It would seem our view on defending the IP might have been proven right. The damages would seem a lot higher than even CPX were hoping for - remember the last results said victory but no expectation of collecting.
Here’s my question - in the US court system is the awarding of damages linked to ability to pay? I’m wondering if a judge would view Tesla as a prime target for a ground breaking award?? Ok, pathetic attempt to ramp the shares up higher but in my minds eye i’m pretty sure i am right...
Nice day. Long term holders need to remember the ultimate prize remains a lot higher than this.

OS, its unlike you be slightly sceptical! I'm going to do a PP1 appraisal just to be clear of where we are :
For two bits of F all, CPX has bought Murata's $50mm (cost) production capability...for a little bit more cash they and Murata are spending time and money training CPX staff how to use said manufacturing which will greatly reduce CPX's cost of production. Murata currently sells c $14mm of its product at a much lower cost of production and has verbally ensured that that its customers will come over to CPX. Once the plant is built (when?) then we get :
A 4x increase in production
A much lower cost of production
Using a plant that would cost $50mm and in the fund raising was suggested to be 'negligible' - I think c $1mm?
The bigger company gets a larger r&d tax rebate (I believe) - again worth checking...
But its hard to see how the company is going to need more $$ unless the ships from Kobe have disappeared to the bottom of the ocean...
So, I remain resolutely optimistic and in equal amounts thoroughly despondent that we haven't heard an update...but then that's always the way with this little company.

You do talk some utter nonsense PP1! However, like others who are long and wrong, I have put an order in to buy yet more at 2.3p. Ho hum.

that unless you have some patience, this share is simply not for you. The ride started a while back and has 2-3 years to go - at the very least. It gets ridden up and down by a multitude of day traders who think tomorrow is the day then dump the shares and move on when it isn't...as someone pointed out yday, I think we fell 10+p in volume of less than 50k shares. Poor Jim bought 500k shares at £1.60 and yet here we are. I did post a while back urging the newbies show some patience but there seems to be more fun chasing shell co's on nasdaq up 10 fold or buying Tesla on 10 million times earnings! The current SP here bears no resemblance whatsoever to the optionality, if the market wants to offer you stock at lower and lower prices and you have faith in management and the ultimate prize, then I suggest you add.

...that the small army of private investors is slowly but surely losing hope...lower prices usually do the job of forcing weak hands...the psychology on investing but plenty of small sales and the lack of a major buyer, and tbh who can blame them! As usual, no news to hang your hat on - but maybe its the very absence of news that is so disconcerting. A couple of things to point out - re cost of rent comment the other day, i believe new rental cost and all business units together cheaper than the old rent, so i have no qualms there. Re delays - I think the company would have to let the mkt know if there was a further appreciable delay? No reason as yet to believe there is. So, no change really to the investment thesis...just boring to see one's mark to market so costly. And there to test your patience.

Well the prelims are out - the positives are all known and remain extremely exciting and hugely undervalued. Questions will remain about the cashflow situation, we're not quite digging behind the cushions on the sofa but I think we'd all like to see the financial ramifications of these collaborations. I am enthused that the new major shareholder wants to appoint a NED, who I imagine will mainly be tasked with looking after their investment. All in all, I remain an extremely relaxed shareholder but one who'd be more horizontal when the financial situation improves!

For all chartists, Rene is due a major breakout in the v near term....triangle from the highs and lows v easily drawable and - normally - you would expect an explosive move one way or another (as Blondie once sang!)...I put 'normally' in a hyphen because nothing seems normal with Reneuron...when it has good news it has a forced seller as its major investor...it announces a prvt investor has bought 5% f the company a year ago....it keeps horribly quiet about what's going on...compare and contrast with Renalytix which I have owned in 1/2 the size I do here...but you seem to get almost weekly updates on what is going on...ho hum. Fingers crossed.

I get that Chester...what i don't know if it was RG who failed to tell the company or the company who failed to notify the authorities? RG has form of being very slow to inform anyone what he is doing, as he seems to sail very close to the wind. It doesn't really matter but having had the pain of him selling in a very untidy way before, I'm extremely cautious about his investing here being seen as a 'good thing'...

He's actually my least favourite large investor, having almost single handedly destroyed the SP of an OIl Co in which I am invested. In fairness to him, he bought 9% of the company for 2 bob fifty which helped it bounce but then spent 3 months selling about 50k shares a day into any rally, which had the effect of driving the SP almost back to whence it came! Based in the Channel isles, he's an interesting trader...but don't be surprised if you come in one day and the SP has gone south because he's decided to move on!

Bought into this a few weeks - average price here. Mkt cap £220m. Cash and realisable assets £30mm. Ebitda for the year likely to exceed £25mm. PE 10x? Seems cheap for a company that is one of a very select few that will enjoy Covid. Think closer to a £1 by y/e. My maths wrong?
