I have read similar information, and in particular that the percentage of the population over 65yrs of age is considerably less than in the UK.

I have however read a report from a doctor in South Africa that indicated the symptoms associated with Omicron thus far appear to be mild in those without other health issues.

I doubt that the rugby at Twickenham will have helped any, unfortunate timing to be hosting a South African team.

I believe that the first case of Omicron was identified in South Africa on November 11th, but that from only 2 online sources so may not be correct.

Apart from Richards Bay Minerals which Rio Tinto has a 74% interest in, I'm not sure they have any other interests within South Africa.

It was bound to happen, but my sentiment remains unchanged.
Now is not the time to sell this particular stock I suspect.
