It's his to lose!
I'd be surprised if he managed to keep VER and RIC behind him though....
RS7... trading the RS5 in for it, it's on route from the factory right now. Trying to be sensible and delay delivery by 2 weeks for the reg change! Selling the Urus whilst I can still get near list for it.
Looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks of it!
I've not managed to drive one yet.... should have made more effort to involve myself.
I suspect that it's not quite quick enough to pique my interest, but my wife wants us to look at one - so i guess we are!
Very confident this will be a game changer for AML.
Yup - expenses that will benefit struggling local hotels and restaurants.
There a cracking hotel on a golf course near there I used to stay at regularly backing in my repping days, when i had a normal job. Up above Barry somewhere.
Not sure why the attitude.... but considering how massively AML being in South Wales will benefit the local economy, I am confident there is little negativity locally!
Aside from that.... simple fact is that many of Gaydon's best will currently be working on DBX, whilst Garden is closed.
Yup seems sensible.
This will cost them a lot mind.... both with Vettel's likely salary demands, paying Perez off, and losing his Mexican sponsors too. Perhaps Mercedes are that keen to have Seb with their engine that they're bankrolling it.
All this is awesome for the Daimler/AML relationship IMO.
Press launch and first customer test drives were last week, must be embargoed otherwise it'd be all over the automotive press.... expecting a flood of reviews imminently!
9 months wait if you want to order one - shows a nice level of demand from the off.
It is indeed intriguing.
All the hyperbole until yesterday was around that they just copied Mercedes ducts that they were allowed to legally use the year before - and how do you unlearn something etc, which is fair enough IMO.
But Racing Point only used Mercedes front ducts last year.... not the rears. They've replicated/copied the rears from scratch for this year.... which doesn't seem right.
Interesting! They would have to notify by RNS that they did this.
Nobody know's ;o)
I think SP has found its correct current level until we get notable news though.
Interesting indeed! Especially as rumour is that Daimler may want out of F1 - so may be looking to sell the team.
I don't know these regs in detail... but I suspect, that should they miss the deadline, then the team bought by another party (Or Wollf & Stroll!?) later this year - that they would still be allowed to re-register as a new team. Although possibly all other teams would have to approve it, and they might lose the prize money....
3% a day consistently would be just lovely.
Gotta be reaaaallll careful if thinking of chasing peaks like that ;o)
Impossible to tell over all, I've traded in and out too many times.... well - until my accountant tells me how much tax I owe at least that is.
You're underestimating @Frank3h.
Mercedes have wanted Vettel with their engine for a long time... for obvious reasons in their home country, with a 4 time world champion. Vettel signing for Aston therefore strengthens the Daimler/Aston Martin F1 relationship massively.... which of course has connatations for AML.
And regards Racing Points fine and point deduction - that could easily cost Aston Martin F1 10's of millions in 2022, if it costs them a championship place. It takes that long for this seasons prize fund to tickle through the system.
Yup.... and due to tightening EU engine regs, of which many AML are outside of due too much lower volume. It won't be long before Merc struggle make a V8.
It could be the Racing Point news that knocked it back briefly....
Renaults protest has been upheld - they DID copy Mercedes brake duct internals!
Not too underhand.... considering that they used them legally last year - I'd chop them up and copy them to make my own this year too!
15 points deducted.... which in the close battle for 3rd placed team with Ferrari, McLaren and Renault, could cost them many millions if it does cost them position in the final championship table.
A profits a profit!
But I always believed that once past the stumbling block of H1 results, with so much positivity in close sequence, SP was always gonna fly once let off the reins.
Any retrospective SP data is always averaged out.... period depending on what scale you're looking at ;o)
