Indexed Linked gilts were once a buy but are now very expensive. Heading for a recession means deflation not a good environment for linkers.

Reports now of a vaccine within 3 months. GSK not expecting one till late next year! Would not invest in GSK for a CV19 vaccine if they taking that long! Wasted money could pay extra Dividend!

Maybe the use of UV well it’s been done at Scarborough is needed now. It seems not so easy to use UV to make impotent viruses in other contexts too- with humans where maybe sunlight not stressed enough or in air conditioning systems in planes!

Note today on their web site a big increase in borrowing to 24% up recently from 18%. It maybe for new investment - maybe to help with the dividend?

They are teaming up with Sanofi to research and develop a vaccine but if they are successful will be available late 2021 ! What use is that - we need it this year ASAP. Meanwhile we pay but if Americans or Chinese find one first it will be just another one at the pharmacy!

Would be good if UU spent some of our money installing ultra violet treatment of all discharges to eliminate viruses into bathing water!

Ok for healthy permitted excercise! The NAV has improved a little but only 426p. They were good at that price a while back.

Markets mad today. It’s just the new ISA year. They buy for perceived yield without much thought of fundamentals!

This could be nationalised at some point because it’s National Infrastructure. But that very unlikely it’s a last resort because this business has to survive. So actually it’s very undervalued - as these old pensioners die off the liability falls away. Only risk is a foreign takeover but expect would be refused as National Asset! Sometime it will recover it’s value. It’s a good hold and will pay even now -better than cash cut or no cut

Was a reasonable long term hold but much of there investment currently inactive for unknown duration so depending upon tenants continuing to pay the rentals. The better ones probably will in full or part as long as exit not protracted. Difficult to value therefore.

True and if live near sea you can get sea water from the beach free in 5 litre water bottles 4 in a trolley. Then you can hand wash your clothes in salt and rinse from water butt one final rinse on UU - if every body did like me UU would be cutting the div.

Problem with Spanish is the disgusting way they treat investors in property. What with spiv estate agents and crippling inheritance taxes and now maybe Shengen limiting to 90 days next year so elderly overwintering have to come back and freeze to death in mid winter! Yes is Spain wants more investment them have to be less Greedy!

Not true our language came from Old Saxon and much exists but of course the French added to the Latin base!
