But they are internationally diversified and confident about paying a bit of dividend so give them credit and for Clubcard their late evening shops keep our flag flying in this country even if we go to Aldi and Lidl as well. Yes I would buy at 50 if not a shed full! But only to get rid of at best profit. But this is not Responsible Capitalism! If Government policy is not to pay interest to savers then it has to be responsible when have to invest to earn a crust and not give the nod to the greedy thieving banks and building societies included to not pay dividend when they could sell afford to!!

I am very cynical about this company from an investment point of view. Make what you can when and if you can. The 2028 bonds were good at 70p up to their 142p peak but the yield now not much use with capital loss to redemption. The shares were great around the same price as long as it last. They have to care about their employees. They obviously care about their pensions like the BOE do. But they don’t care about ordinary shareholders . they had enough profit to pay something.Now we know nether the company or the Government care about the shareholders -we are not all traders or spiv speculators just need some respect as ordinary people deprived by BOE of interest printing money and lining their pensions from inflated indexed bonds. Hope the shooters short this one into the ground sooner the better!
