Good thanks. I think this does mislead people who buy the shares thinking they are investing in sugar!

Read that the UK sugar producers having bad times with sugar beet that ends up the white stuff in bags sold by Primark . They worry about the cane sugar coming in the UK trade deal with Australia. But will Tate &Lyle benefit from these big imports anticipated or frankly will Tate &Lyle be nothing to do with Sugar anymore?

My understanding is you now buy Sugar with Tate &Lyle written on the packet but was this not sold off years ago I remember it Happening I think to an American company. Think many people still buy Tate &Lyle shares because they buy the sugar and think it’s good to buy a British Commodity share. Stand to be corrected if I do not have this right!

Will the Chinese sort them out re-educating them their way or will that country break their backs too?

Good diversification should help but sure oil petrol and oil based products still will be good demand. People like to put their foot on the gas and you can fill up and go without waiting to recharge so think dual fuel vehicles will still be popular whatever. BP has a good retail position it’s a respected brand surviving all they have been through!

Maybe because in competitive market and cannot increase prices as much as would like?

Who would want that- it’s usually taken away with a consolidation. Just nice divi and gentle climb paying off some debt-.

They should tell Cevian Tom get lost. Avila a good British company if could have been better managed!

Maybe important to check whether it is simply a special dividend with no consolidation. I can remember Centrica once paid one and was straight cash 25p a share.i accept that is not always a consolidation but when I started with shares I didn’t know and the NG consolidation was annoying !

Special Dividends are often misleading and a return of capital really. I remember once NG doing it and many over the moon until they then saw their reduced number of remaining shares. Tesco recently did the same. Also annoying if you had a nice round number and you get a new lesser odd number. They should just pay it as it says on the label and some companies do just that!

Dividends have not been a strong point with this. I remember when the SP used to be about £8. Seriously wonder currently in relation to dividend if the share is worth more than half what it is now? It’s substantially in Hong Kong that’s now in China - it’s not the place it was!

Surprised Standard Chartered not mentioned. It’s been around a long time!
