I know what you mean about the technical stuff, absolutely mind-boggling. Dai2belts is particularly good at twisting my melon, his level of research is something else!

All I know is DM says there's helium in the ground - lots of it - and reckons there's a very high prospect of extracting it.

Only a further 905,596 buys announced today, I was expecting it to be more TBH. Total now 4,880,817, about 3.48%.
I guess others want in here too so Investec can only buy up what's available on the open market.

Another 2,115,184 shares bought, total now 3,975,221.
Looks like Investec starting to motor now as I see some big buys on today's trades, will be interesting to see tomorrow's update.

Only time - and good fortune - will tell.
Certainly DBay have a good reputation for making sound investments and money, or so I'm led to believe.
Let's hope we are all still here to enjoy it if/when it happens.
I will keep watching with interest.

By the same token, also nothing in the releases to suggest they will invest in anything anytime soon, we just don't know. That's more the point I was making.
But certainly the change in investing policy has to be a good thing as I was always led to believe that logistics was a terrible thing to invest in i.e. low margins, although I'm no expert in that.

As I understand it they intend to buy back up to 20% of the current share issue on the open market in order to negate the current discount-to-share value that currently exists; reducing the number of shares in issue should increase the value of the remaining shares to a price that better reflects the true NAV of the company i.e. the cash they have in the bank.
Unfortunately the timing of this may not be great IMO due the Ukraine conflict dragging everything down.
Whether DBay or LDG intend to invest any of the cash into anything at all before or after the buyback is complete is anyone's guess.
I'm sure someone will tell me if I've got any of this wrong but pretty sure that sums it up.

Another 443,187 shares hoovered up by Investec.
Total bought back to date 1,860,037, that's about 1.32% of the targeted figure of 140m so still a long way to go.

Thanks Zoolook, I had a look at VLE but too rich for me, plus I have no spare cash available to invest due to a self-inflicted investing strategy last week (!) that went wrong as a result of the "terrible timing"!!
Not sure if VLE's NAV will hold up for long in the current/emerging climate either with expected rising costs and inflation, also I see one of their investments still losing money despite rising revenue, that would worry me too.
I'll stick with LDG for now and hope the gain here will offset some of my other fallers.

If LSE's data is correct today's volumes are something like 12:1 sales to buys, that can't be good?

I previously held here then dumped as I thought the whole project was going south (and all the money into Harry's pockets?) then recently bought back in as I thought it sounded more promising. Now I'm beginning to wonder - again - if I did the right thing?

Only time will tell I guess but holding for now, fingers crossed we get something more positive/certain soon.

2nd update released today, another 1,334,573 shares bought back, better progress but SP holding around 14.4p, presumably the Ukraine situation not helping it to rise too quickly?

First update out today; on 1st day of buyback Investec managed to secure 82,277 shares of the (up to) 140,441,480 they intend to buy back.
At that rate it is going to be slow progress I think.
Watching and waiting.......

Who'd have thought that DBay/LDG doing nothing with the cash would work in our favour? Good job they didn't invest it in something that might now be worth a lot less that they put in.

My holding owes me just under 11p a share so certainly good news. If the buyback does what they and we hope it will we should see the SP get somewhere near it's true value circa 19p with any luck so worth holding a while yet.
TBH I'll likely get out with a good profit if it gets anywhere near that rather than wait for DBay to find something to invest the cash in but will wait and see.

Re. the SP, sure you'll tell me if I have this wrong, if PI's stop dumping their shares at 14p and dry up the supply, then the buyback will create a demand with no shares with which to fill that demand, so should push the SP higher?

You're probably right Bergcarls, I even considered it myself briefly in order to fund something else but decided to stay put as LDG's 'cash in the bank' is safer than oil in the ground in Mongolia! LDG may not make me rich but at least my shirt is safe :)

If LSE's trade info is correct a lot more bought than sold today though which has to be a good thing.

LDG have announced commencement of the buyback scheme via Investec.
This probably couldn't be worse timing given the Russia/Ukraine situation but should still see a rise in SP given that was the intention, I believe.
Watching with renewed interest as this is the only holding currently 'performing' in my portfolio!

Thank you for your criticism of my post, which I accept fully. Honestly, it wasn't my intention to trivialize anything and certainly not to appear silly, my apologies to all if that was how it sounded.
With the worsening news I have heard this morning I - like others I imagine - am almost in tears that the relative peace and freedoms we have had for so long, and that enable us to participate in things such as posting here, are under threat.
My thoughts are for sure with Ukraine and I fear for the wider western democracies likely to be drawn into this outrageous conflict; doing nothing is not an option IMO and there won't be any winners, we all have a lot more than our investments at stake.
