The best thing I readi that UK rents are uprated annually with RPI -which is great -as long as the Care Provider can get the money to pay. How will they survivewith no increase till 2022 in America. Increases of a % of the price index in Germany every 3-4 years -well not so good and if the euro declines to 1.1 with $ will £ move with it or will euro earnings be worth less even if only 20% of earnings. 2.5p divi . Beggars cannot be choosers when building society paying 2-3% ?? !

When they get back to 5p worth a punt. Price dropped a lot in DHAKA. Lousy stock divi. They take the pee.

Quite a bit of debt in the bond market but spread out repayment dates. Properties in good locations in southern England and good conurbations in France Germany and Poland -not in the southern perimeter. Stock cheap -near to consolidation level bought around here to £2 a bargain especially with the yield that beats the others in this sector . Olympics next year German economy set to pick up after the summer lull. Good to have a toe in here .

This company has really been through fire. But it is remodelling itself away from ink to modern technology. It has good contracts with PostOffice and recently HSBC .It is debt free and has paid dividends throughout its lean times. In fact it has a record as being in the past a generous divi payer. Put it in your ISA and kook ahead

I no longer hold these. You have to believe that the euro will collapse 30% and sterling not move with it to be confident about this longer term because of the way it is capitalised which is a worry. However it is a dividend payer and the financing issue not an issue for some time. So I am not condemning it. But be careful to research this carefully -the matter of the euro loan that finances this There maybe a miracle and sterling will recover to 1.60 against the euro by then but that is not very likely -but basically that is what is required in 3 or 4 years to recover your capital invested here.

Optimism expressed in first quarter. Hoping for good follow up this next week.Good dividend paying company Company SP rather trashed this week as others with euro exposure. However -recent Goldman Sacks -buy rating and my researches indicate no Greek or periphery debt here to worry about. This is one I missed on the way up. I timidly bought 100 at 565 -I would like another 100 at 465 and anothet at 420p . Anyway its another £7 in my quarterly divi. Would be good if the yield crept back over 5% -currently around 4.60%. Obviously I bought as a long hold in this small amount

Should the footsie stop at 5000 or back to 3300 in a recession ? After all its only money printing by banks that has caused this recovery and all this inflation in food and raw materials. We had this intervention in 2003 ending in a big crash. Maybe if they just let things get back to reality and everything got cheaper again we might eventually get a real recovery . What we might be seeing soon is Helicopter Ben getting his P45. If there is a recession then all these high dividends will have to be rebasd surely on revised earnings when the excess liquidity is destroyed ?

The buy back may restrain the downside short term but with Government spending cuts they will bvworker harder for smallr returns .

There are 12b month results out today. The earnings appeared to have declined but it appears th company are maintaining the dividend and expect dividend cover to improve this year. They report sales of lower yieldings and acquisitions of higher yielding assets. I am keeping a modest holding here . Keeping assets in sterling with current BOE policy is an issue -however the global outlook is uncertain and sterling maybe not the worst. Indeed some evidence of carry trade in sterling assets developing due to low interest rates here.

You say 'agreed'! But I am looking for growth in earnings and I only see increased costs. There maybe assets there but if you are printing new shares to pay the dividend how long can that go on. I say weak hold now-there are better places to keep your money but of course if there is a general improvement -it changes. To be fair if you think that asset stripping is OK in bad times -you get your nice divi- and later on the asset value will recover and everything will be fine -it is a view you could take. But if we have QE a weak £ and continuing inflation will we get there ?

The problem with care homes is that the charges to residents/patients keeps increasing to amounts that are unaffordable for those who pay long term and for the local authorities already cash strapped who have to pay when the money runs out and for the ones on benefit. The rents might be indexed linked but due to the level of inflation due to QE in America and UK - but you cannot get blood out of a stone! I am not so sure that dividends will increase they are already generous particularly with the SP price falls.

Interest rate riseswhen they materialise will not be confined to BOE . So the extent to which they affect UK export prices is not governed solely by UK rates. Also in the unlikely event of a substantial divergence with our trading competitors thev resulting balance of payments deficit would cause currency flows real and speculative that would exert a contrary effect. So I do not see any sound reasoning in your suggestion. PVCS is not a company that I would heavily invest in. As long as it has a sound balance sheet and there is nothing particularly adverse then there is nothing wrong with a measured hold here surely.

Yes thats the number I have of these -you might laugh -I have about the same capital invested here as in RBS and LLOY ! Well it pays a dividend but I am wary of adding yet. The Spanish Municipal Elections were depressing for the PARTI SOCIALIST -who get the rap for high unemployment economic doldrums with not much hope at present. ZApatero has been a very credible performer in persuing sufficient austerity to avoid going cap in hand to the EU or IMF. The leader of the Party Popular on the other hand is very uninspiring and leads a party that is riddled with corruption.In UK Labour got the rap for the boom and bust phoney property boom. A year later the Conservatives get the rap for delivering medicine and not very many realise how bad things were and to be nmostalgic about Labour and the reckless way they ran things they all need to go back to schools ! So I hope that in Spain a credible leaderv emerges on the centre left because sadly the PP despite their success yesterday do not convince me -nor the unemployed young on the streets in the last days. Sanytander fortunately is substantially ex Spain substantially in South America - Brazil. Also in UK with a weak £ not as good an asset as it might have been as earnings buy less euro. Spain though is like it or not Santanders base and its not looking pretty at present. Far better outside the euro -well lets just say can they cope with the alternative -a long period of stagnation domestically. In Spain you need your National Insurance number to even get an electricity supply and if you don't pay you get cut off fast. As the 4th largest global bank Santander is not expensive -keep some cash hany to add -who knows the best time but it depends on your budget -if you like to be well spread with your risks go for the bottom and if you miss then there is plenty of other choice.

When I come to this page I see the ad about feed in tariffs. I am surprised this is not helping this company. With gas and electricity prices expected to rise substantially a solar company paying a dividend ought to be a good place to invest for income and growth in coming years !

I thought the Trading Statement was ok today -why the drop ?

I admit to 500 of these bought at 50p -they went to nearly 60p and now below 50p -since the beginning of the year when solar was tipped as the investment of the year. Well it is definately an industry with products that are relevant accessing what is in fact a free energy resource- sun rays . It seems that it is also an industry with a lot of people at it. Saw an interesting clip on BBC World about a German small solar panel company Heliatek -there seem to be quite a few. PVCS pays a dividend which is useful as has been said. You can see a rising dividend from earnings growth or dog eat dog ! But who wants to invest on the basis of a rising or stable divi on a falling SP as a default option strategy perhaps the company's hidden agenda to to fund its development as long as it can. Well that is an outside view. I don't panic for now . Is the in Japan a possible reason for this temporally - if so there will be a rebound. It is also May -it would be premature to say this is a buying opportunity. I am content to keep a few here but I am disappointed this has not held mid upper 50's.
