Thanks Size82, your comment answers my question really well. So in short the trial didn't fail because the SNG didn't work, but because the effects were masked by SoC.
Also, just because people question the company Doc, doesn't make them a troll. I know a troll would say this, but I am a genuine long term investor who has been holding well before the P3 results and therefore down quite a bit. Asking questions and having productive debates is what this forum should be about. A lot of people following Februarys RNS wrote about how it was obvious steroids reduce the effectiveness of interferon and that is why it failed, I wanted to clarify that this is not the case.
So do we still think SPRINTER failed its primary end points due to patients on steroids... wouldn't there have been a cohort of patients not taking steroids to compare to?
And also, why did SPRINTER not originally only have people in most need of Tx in their selection criteria? Finding out after the drug failed that it works best on <65yrs and people with respiratory problems I thought was something we all universally knew
Anyway, hoping this is the first of a few good RNS's, ACTIV2 data next, then trial or JV I hope.
All I would say, I’ve tried reading the signs with SNG in the past, and been stung badly. On paper I think this looks promising, not long to wait now. Also attending this conference isn’t the first time for synairgen. I look forward to seeing if this time will be more successful.
For #media #investors: We will be presenting at @ATScommunity from 13-18 of May taking place in San Francisco, California.
We look forward to seeing everyone there!

I have my fingers crossed this event is where the tide will turn for Synairgen. The need hasn’t gone away for a broad spectrum antiviral, and it never will. I will be listening closely. I’m expecting an RNS either tomorrow, Friday or Monday morning. GLA.
I think people need to be realistic about this event.
It is going to disclose information which could affect the SP hence the embargo.
We are awaiting further info from sprinter, it is likely to be released in this presentation.
We are awaiting further info from ACTIV-2. There is no evidence that will be disclosed in this presentation but is likely to be released ‘soon’
A JV/TO or EUA won’t come immediately from this, don’t get your hopes up. But this will be a platform to present our case.
Deep dive data of Sprinter will really let us know what direction this company will head in. I’m hoping it’s good but I don’t expect the SP to move drastically on this alone.
Good luck all genuine investors.
Yes and what if we have a future respiratory virus which takes years to produce a vaccine (if ever). Having a drug which works then, with the safety profile of SNG, would come in very handy.
Did I say 'what if', probably 'when' would be more accurate.
Regarding long covid. Have we ever had any proof Synairgen works against long covid? People often seem to think there is a chance it will prove it does. But I sometimes wonder how people get to this conclusion.
16th/17th May presenting at conference data from Sprinter
25th May financial results.
Not long to wait then. Like so many here I’ve been badly burnt with SNG. But I still hold hope, like I said last night, covid isn’t going away, we are a mutation away from further deaths. The need for a broad spectrum antiviral is still as important as ever.
It will be interesting to see where synairgen ends up. My bet is T/O or JV.
Possibly so. The COVID pandemic isn’t going anywhere. We learn to live with it. But we will always be one mutation away from further deaths. Let alone the decreased potency of vaccines over time.
One things for sure, the need for SNG will always be there.
"The positives are we are presenting at a prestigious event in May and it’s hard to believe we’d be doing that unless the company had found interesting insights on the failure of Sprinter and hopefully significant findings."
Synairgen have presented this event before right?
I'm long on SNG, but feel although these events are important, until we get positive data, JV, EUA or any sort of commercialisation, this is all just background noise. Sorry if this makes me sound a little ignorant, I understand the importance of these events but just feel we need something more than going to an event for me to feel there is progress here.
