@goldenbrown1985 Good to hear from an NHS worker, I've been fed up with reading posts from people on here that knew nothing about the subject and telling the world what NHS workers want and deserve.
Yesterday NHS workers calls for better PPE were being twisted by people on here, it's clear in the letter I linked to that those working in the NHS are all of different ages, in different states of health and facing different sets of duties and if a frontline worker is more vulnerable I believe they deserve access to FFP masks.
I've already said the P2F IIR could make a difference but if you think there will be zero viral containing matter of the front of that mask that would allow you touch it that needs to be shown in testing, because their RNS never claimed it kills 100%, a droplet will take a certain amount of time to be acted on in it's entirety.

It seems there are at least 1000 healthcare professional that agree with me, they all signed a letter asking for access to FFP3 masks because non-fitted IIRC are inadequate for working with covid positive patients. IDIOT!

The letter, signed by a thousand health professionals, CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO FFP3 masks for all staff working with patients with confirmed or suspected covid-19 and for a review of national PPE guidance. They are also calling for ventilation in hospitals to be improved.

poorivester It's you who misses the point, even if your mask performs as you say it is still unlikely they would change those procedures, you're fantasising. You say the P2F mask is better than the one the NHS uses now, which mask that the NHS uses now are you referring to, they use several types from different manufacturers, and what particularly are they better at? Your vague "better" is meaningless a clinical assessment of a product.
Yes NHS staff are crying out for better PPE, what I've read is they want visors and fitted masks.
P2F may have something but your fantasies are all in your head.
P2F potentially have an IIR mask that could help reduce infection rates but your assertions around doing away with procedures for changing PPE and disposal are just ridiculous.

star I don't mind optimism, I've tried to be quite positive last couple of weeks but when fantasists start telling stories about what the NHS will be able to start doing with their untested product during a pandemic it really does stretch the patience.

• located close to the point of use (where this does not compromise patient safety, for example, mental health/learning disabilities). In domiciliary care PPE must be transported in a clean receptacle
• stored safely and in a clean, dry area to prevent contamination
• within expiry date (or had the quality assurance checks prior to releasing stock
outside this date)
• single use unless specified by the manufacturer or as agreed for extended/sessional
use including surgical facemasks
• changed immediately after each patient and/or after completing a procedure or task
• disposed into the correct waste stream depending on setting, for example domestic
waste/offensive (non-infectious) or infectious clinical waste
• discarded if damaged or contaminated
• safely doffed (removed) to avoid self-contamination. See here for guidance on

• decontaminated after each use following manufactures guidance if reusable PPE is
used, such as non-disposable goggles/face shields/visors

It claims to kill up to 90% of the viral load, so you want to spread the other 10% around the hospital. Nowhere are there any quotes from the NHS, you're a twit if you think the NHS will change policy on the handling and changing of PPE based on a one off in situ test in a lab.

Let the product get developed and tested and stop making stupid claims of what the NHS will do, PRAT!

poorinvester You're making claims that you can't back up with any performance testing, changes in policy like that would be very carefully thought out and would have to be based on some tangible data. It may be the case, what are you basing such bold and definitive statements on?
I want to support this but when I read posts like that all credibility of this BB is reset to zero.

maidit308 An ignorant poorly researched ramping twerp. I said P2F would be a welcome upgrade on standard IIR masks for staff doing every day non AGP duties. I said any member of NHS staff that wanted an FFP3 at work, even for non AGP duties, should have the option, FFP3 offer higher protection than any IIR mask (including P2F IIR) , to suggest otherwise shows what a pillock you are.

I do think frontline staff should have the option of an FFP3 if they want to wear one for non AGP procedures also.
At least subject getting a bit of airplay, public ignorance is widespread too, most believe they wear masks to protect themselves out in public, mind boggles.

IIR masks will never be used as substitutes for FFP3 masks by the NHS, that is 100% undeniable fact, they are completely different products, it doesn't matter if the IIR mask is ani viral.
That is not to diminish the P2F IIR but your post is just pure BULL

I know I'm not the only holder in this that needs to sell a few to pay a tax bill, leaving it as late as possible in the month but it looks like it's going to be before to big pay day, there may be a good day to top up in a couple of weeks.

They put you guys through the ringer this morning, I bet you had some WUMS on here (not me) so glad it turned around for you all.
Still some nut jobs at both ends of the spectrum on here, I may have hopped on board this morning if I wasn't all locked in elsewhere. Care homes, care workers, public transport, supermarkets and perhaps hospitals as an extra tier of mask above the standard IIR but not substitute for FFP, I can imagine (with this new variant) them making a difference.
Still waiting on testing, performance testing and the pricing touted on here seems all over the place.
