Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
We haven't seen this volume for a while. Nice, though not spectacular increase in SP. I would expect TA experts to give a seriously positive interpretation of today's move. We'll see 12.50p (Will's price not long ago) very soon.
And that will only be the start of of a major, major move (40, 50ish?)
AIMHO off course.
Thanks for posting. Yes, interesting question.
Meanwhile, CoTec (CTH.V) racing ahead: Yesterday 10%, more than a week ago C$0.40, now C$0.55. Ok, still tiny afa mkt cap, and volume also thin, but nevertheless.
Hi Neil,
thank you, good summary. However, it seems the insiders' sale at >p120 also "helped". And as much justification there may have been from the perspective of the sellers, to me this action still remains "unfortunate".
As far as the "too good to be true" argument goes, I'd like to say this:
as a non O&G expert (far from that!, my background is > 50yrs professionally active in financial markets) perhaps a faster road from discovery (be it a giant one!) to cashflow was expected. As has been explained clearly & convincingly many times by all our O&G expert fellow shareholders -on this board and on the other one- , it should not come as a surprise to see technical problems, most of them unexpected but not insurmountable. In that respect, yes, I would have to admit that it was "too good to be true".
Also I have the impression these people had a fairly good guess about how the interpretation of the relevant RNS's in the market was going to be (so not the interpretation of the technical content itself of these RNS's).
All in all, yes, they were mainly right for the wrong reasons, unfortunately.
And, if I may add, not a pleasant bunch of people

Sorry to ask, but what is it I don’t understand?
10% of Maginito valued at £1.5 mln, i.e. £15mln for 100%, by a company with a credible track record. ==> the remaining bits HyProMag and Songwe Hill - the latter with an estimated NPV of U$559mln, IRR 31,5% as per DFS August 2022 - (not to mention the rutile stuff and other), are valued at, say, £10mln.
Dim witted?
Or is just the lack of interest for AIM stocks, and for that matter, for small caps in general?
Yes, we have to admit, the MDA takes a very long time to arrive, but it certainly will, and hopefully not in the too distant future. And Will's purchase of 800k a few weeks ago should give us a lot of confidence in that respect.
There is much at stake; of course for us MKA shareholders, but even more so for the Republic of Malawi.
And almost superfluous to mention, the urgency for the West to secure an independent source for these RE’s.
My scenario is still as follows:
1. MDA
2. soon followed by funding arrangements
3. once 1. and 2. are in place the Management will then have a strong foundation to present their case to HNWI’s and Institional Investors.
Only a matter of time, a few months at the most; if earlier, so much better.
A multi-multi bagger if ever there's been one.

I would consider that a piece of (very?) good news
How America plans to break China’s grip on African minerals.
Sorry, it's behind a paywall. I suppose it doesn't mention MKA, but it probably confirms what we know already. Nevertheless, if someone here is a subscriber, maybe he/she/it could post it?

CEO Will Dawes buys 800000 shares avg 12.85
Well, someone just paid C$0.345 (+18.5%); equivalent p21.01.
Admittently, low volume: 23000 total so far
ok, thanks Louis. Then I might give it a try; haven't read War & Peace for a long time ;)
Hi Louis,
First lines sound interesting, but then, paywall.
I've worked in and been involved in financial markets since 1969 so I've seen quite a bit (lesson 1) humility; lesson 2) expect the unexpected ; only then followed by fundamentals and, yes, also TA) and I recognise what he is saying in his first paragraphs. Would be tempted to read further, seems to be quite a long story. But then....
Does he also talk about PANR?
webinar tomorrow
To keep it silly, since it would be my dear late mothers birthday, I'm with you on 221222
At least Cotec is moving, and it's moving in the right direction: +18%.
We -or is it Malawi?- seem to be in hibernation......
Good question!
The way this Cotec update is worded, to me it sounds like there is some new news (re MKA, that is) in their message
Hmm, interesting and nice to see C$0.20bid C$0.21off, C$0.21 (+20%) last traded on Toronto Ex, on relatively good volume (190k). Equivalent p12.80-p13.44
OT: Thank you very much for sharing this video, really beautiful, I enjoyed watching it
Last night some 15000 shares traded at C$0.185 (source Yahoo Finance), the low of the last 52 weeks; total value only £1850. At exactly that level share options are granted. Tssss.....
Btw: I put in an order to buy only 14500 shares (rounding up to a whole x100k), before opening of the market, limit C$0.185. Execution? 1000 shares only, at C$0.185, whereas -again according to Yahoo Finance several lots of 500 shares and 1 lot 0f 13500 have been traded before my order got a partial fill. Very disappointing.
RNS: £500000 additional funding.
Have not read all of the RNS yet, couldn't find the conversion terms immediately. Could someone else clarify?
"Buys" only. Offer (@p14.50) lifted in nice quantities.
Remarkable against a dark red general background.
Already a few days old, and not very spectacular, bt nevertheless:
Mr. Julian Treger, CEO of the Company commented: "Events in the first half of the year have reaffirmed we are on the right track. The unfortunate war in Ukraine has created real shortages in certain commodities which technologies that we have secured access to could help solve. The spike in energy prices has made the shift to greener lower carbon solutions more urgent than ever. The end of globalization and global just-in-time supply chains are adding to strategic commodity demand and the weaponization of commodities by Russia means that it is more important than ever for the West to have security of supply and independence with respect to strategic minerals. CoTec could assist in this process."
Our three portfolio investments are doing very well and two have increased significantly in value in a short time. Binding Solutions Limited is progressing rapidly and its revenues are much higher than last year. It is currently looking to raise funds at approximately triple our investment cost. Magiron LLC continues to expand its asset base and could play a major role in creating green steel independence for the United States. It is looking at raising capital at more than five times our recent cost. Finally, Mkango Resources Ltd. is building its pilot plant in the United Kingdom to demonstrate its green magnet and rare earth recycling business at scale."
