I was here few month back when SP was at it's lowest and there were amazing constructive discussions.

Now it seems hijacked by few people and only profanities. What happened with the professional people who were posting then?

@Irontaz easy tiger ! lets do some calculations what denby69 says: he sold at 15.04 and bought back at 14.91 which is a 0.87% margin out of which 0.05% is stamp duty and transaction fee so technically all this drama for 0.8%

Technically GSK will fall until the next big news in September IMO below 14.91 of course I could be wrong so I can't see the business case here

denby69 could you please do a % calculation of your materialise "profit" taking into account a double stamp duty and the transaction fees? Given that you are back in how much would you expect it to go up?

RobertS as per my experience
1. a Non Exec has very very little access to the internal information as generally the executive boards have no interest in unnecessary disclosure
2. generally people appointed should have lots of connections in the industry and are requited to make "contacts" with whatever parties are necessary / interested to deliver the strategy.

So, IMO I don't see it as a conflict of interest on the contrary , plus he may be the only one who has the power to oust Dan if the major shareholders express distrust or activism.

DYR as this is only my reasoning to get an entry
1. PHNX received at least 2 unsolicited offers for the EU business one US the other Can - this shows interest
2. The management "reject it" as it doesn't create enough "shareholder value" - I read it " we want to sell for more money especially for us
3. The offer even that rejected remains "strategic" - very interesting statement
4. My Speculation: if a larger VC would buy the whole PHNX for a lot of more money than break it up and sell the EU side while consolidate the UK with a Can or US arm would create much more "shareholder value"

The spread is created by frequency of trade NOT by volume so the HF create bombardments of small "sales" to dreg the price down, scare the market do sell off and enter.

It looks as there are not many want to sell anymore hardly any trades in the last few days. Now transactions 1-5 shares to keep the SP moving.

O Dear Dear Dear I am always suspicious of profiles which supposedly are "investors" but trash all the stocks they claim they invest asking people on the boards to dump them.
