I noticed it had done it once before within the last couple of weeks but it reverted back to the original method within a couple of hours - let's hope it does the same again.. I can see it's benefits but I think I prefer the old way..

Has LSE changed the way the threads are displayed for everyone?

If a brokerage firm lends out shares for shorting, how come the shareholders never see any coinage from their shares being leant out?

Pre-Covid levels are absolutely possible this year, the extent of new builds and government support is unprecedented.
Yesterday also marks the day my return on investment here doubled. This is my best performing share out of my portfolio :)

Tullow has really saved my year :)

Tullow isn't my only positive share, but Shell and BPC were where my losses were which I didn't know you could roll over indefinitely.
I should be good now, I know about the 12300 limit, it wasn't this year I was concern d about, it was maxing out next year's on day 1 of new tax year moving stuff to next year's ISA.
And my spouse ... I don't trust her lol

I personally don't think AML has much share price growth in it this year - it's books are shocking and it was a miracle people doubled their money after consolidation..
Crazy what a brand name and nothing else can do to a share..
Don't get me wrong, I made a few grand from it, don't don't stay long enough for the consolidation but always thought it was over valued - and now it definitely is.. IMHO :)

My problem is I've used my wrapper for this year and have to wait 4-6 days if I were to do that.
You don't have the same problem as me as you have this year's abailable

Just to be clear Scooby - you should get your broker to "bed and ISA" 20k of your best shares your u think you will make the most money off in the coming years before the 5th (bare in mind these bank holidays and the weekend!) - so do it now!
They normally charge £40 per share company
They will sell and re-buy almost instantly for you and pop it into your ISA wrapper for this year

Also I have just found out for my case I can roll over CGT losses for subsequent years..
So my 29k of losses this year will count towards me for my next year's to come as long as I declare it in my self assessment.
Here's the HMRC blurb I just found
Using losses to reduce your gain
When you report a loss, the amount is deducted from the gains you made in the same tax year.

If your total taxable gain is still above the tax-free allowance, you can deduct unused losses from previous tax years. If they reduce your gain to the tax-free allowance, you can carry forward the remaining losses to a future tax year.

Reporting losses
Claim for your loss by including it on your tax return. If you’ve never made a gain and are not registered for Self Assessment, you can write to HMRC instead.

You do not have to report losses straight away - you can claim up to 4 years after the end of the tax year that you disposed of the asset.

Yes you can and you can also do what is called "Bed & ISA" for this year before the 5th and you can open up another one after that period

That is an option thanks runningman, that would reduce the days I'm out until new tax wrapper available is down to 4 days due to the weekend and bank holidays (x2)
4 days is still not ideal but better than 6-7..

I am going to move (sell) tullow, Rolls, Saga as I feel these will make the best gains next year and re-buy in my ISA wrapper for next year..
I could sell others instead but I thought it prudent to try to move the ones I feel will gain the most.
But this leaves me in a pickle..
Has anyone ever actually been gunned down by HMRC for CGT on shares - I mean I find it hard what I've been up to so the tax man would have a job too ...
But yeah it's a bad position to be in..
I should have this year's wrapper still available but I'm a year behind as it's already full so I can't bed and ISA..
