Much happier buying back at these levels with sensible dividend so back in my energy portfolio.
Good exit point for shorters.
Sold a tranche a while back at 508p.
Just bought them back.
Even more reason to avoid NS.
2024 Spring Budget - A British ISA will give extra £5000 tax free allowance for UK investments. The devil will be in the detail of course.
Be interesting to see if there is any announcement in today's Budget speech re NS O&G. UK needs all the cash it can get. Birmingham especially.
There is something seriously wrong with that photo. Could be a scene from Spitting Image
If it opens at £9.50 I’ll buy back for another 50p.
I sold today at £10 and took a ‘reduced divi’ early. Expecting sp to go back to £9 or lower on ex-dividend day. Will consider buying back then but shorters then have another three months to push this back down and spread FUD.
One thing this possible offer has caused for holders long or short, is that they have been forced to disclose their positions.
Interesting times indeed.
Stevebt, it doesn't have to be a binary choice. You could split your intended investment in two, buying some before & some after the ex-divi. Should get the worst, sorry best, of both lol.
And BTW, imo timing as well as time in the market is very important. No-one wants to buy a 10% divi share & lose 5% in the weeks / months after.
I think I've found footage of i3e's IT dept.
Currently working on the capital allocation for 2024.

Looks to me like the shorters are bailing, not jumping in.
Last one out’s a sissy.
Question in my mind is what will be the determining price of the average market value per Share for the five business days immediately preceding 27 March 2024. Without knowing that you might elect to receive 105% of the share price of say £8 if the shorters double down.
Amazing it ended on a 9.
There should be some auto-investments next week too.
Meanwhile some sporadic large trades have gone through in the last couple of days.
Divi received in AJB this morning.
Time for new share options & LTIP for the BOD at these new lows.
Offset a little by interest received.
I3e must have reduced the loan debt by about £10m since last June. Still not yet deployed, the loan plus the £25m accordion facility gives some purchasing power to either buy ready producing assets, drill more oil or drive the NS interest.
I've added this morning before the divi brigade get a chance. I expect the price to be higher by Friday. Oh, & the purchase was marked as a sell. All imo dyor etc blah blah.
