Interesting last few minutes catch up on the the debates this morning!
The funding, debt finance, and new share issuance and hedging in place to manage this mammoth mine and , processing plant at Telfer, and our own starter mine at Havieron, are complex giant projects to expend monies time and effort on and in my own mind, we more or less start again now as a producer and explorer, with a whole new playing field ahead of us.
That we could now be pretty much obsolete as a company given GH deal with SB of former Newcrest, plus the fact that buttons have been mentioned as payment for the old GGP in recent times, were it not for outmanoeuvring negotiation skills and chess moves from SD; we would be sitting at well below 6p or taken out completely , which does not please me or any of us. Whew! Is all I can think!!
However, the real work to rebuild from a solid platform is only now, disappointing though it is for us all, having seen inflated highs of 37 ish pence compared to now some years ago.
I am confident that Shaun knows his figures for financing, funding and finding new possibilities, hence the buying up of Paterson pieces of land. There is a plan. There is now a new Prince of the Paterson and he's a numbers man and now his own boss. He just needs to stay and expedite it now. I 'm pretty sure he will. Gervaise was not the right person to do this. He went as far as he could.
It hurts for sure but at least we are now de-risked and the possibilities, in time are surely as high if not higher , but only for those of us with years to wait.
I am sure a lot of lessons have been learned along this yellow brick road. I know I have learnt a lot plus made some friends and acquired a knowledge of mining I never thought I would ever need!
But in our minds, imv only, we should be prepared for a re-envisioning of a new miner with a ready made and newly spruced up mammoth of a mill, and the journey we will need to make to get to where we all want. The very good news is that we survived a near disaster in the making and an amazing opportunity was seen by our MD who brought on the board and financing to make future things happen ..and all because of and made possibly by the Havieron discovery. That god for that and then for the negotiations, heavyweight hires and the financial skillsets of our boss!
It will be slowly but surely I am sure from now on and if gold keeps this up, then maybe sooner than I had hoped for; but still a year or three in the making I think
