BP are committed to share buybacks now rather than increased divi. Buyback reduces share dilution, increases share price, so same thing really. Just viewed differently by different parties!

JWD you are in the wrong business. You ask on every board when is the share going to reach a huge price. Simple answer is no crystal balls & no guarantees. You pay your money you take your chance. DYOR take your own risks & don't use any BB as a sound foundation for any investment. Entries on here are just views that is all. Noone knows what the future holds. This could be £2 next week., could be £10 if Exxon make a bid. Noone knows!!!

yep, i agree on that. This is a safe share i think. I been invested in some stocks that have given me sleepless nights. I think if you keep your patience with this one it'll come good & a regular divi helps to chip away at the original outlay. I think everyone knows this share's a bit of a no brainer especially at the current levels!

you should be in the green by Xmas with a 315 average!

anyone who has bought at recent low levels or any prospective buyer should be happy as a pig in poo with that divi. Best divi in ftse100. I think what caitlin is getting at is once the SP rises, eventually the divi will too. I don't expect the divi to rise for a good few years, but as long as they keep it & the SP rises nicely i really don't care. Best place for my money as i see it!

Intrigued to see where this is going. Don't take this wrong way all but i hope it goes back to £2 as i want back in here. I do think the rise has been way too quick here & can't blame people for taking the cash. I know i'd have taken out a bit @250 anyway. I'm sure this has loads of upside but i think it'll need the dividend reinstated before seeing the £3+. Interesting the debt financing instrument they're using. All actually looks quite good from a shareholders view & they definitely needed to get the debt levels down as that was the only thing which was a bit concerning on the fundamentals here. I'll keep a close eye here. If back below the 2 i'm back in!

244 is a great price for this share. Double bagger for those who are patient. Pre covid this been over £4 ever since 1997 (small dip for Deepwater only) No sympathy for the dreamers waiting sub 230. That will never be seen again unless we have Covid22 or something!

if a 243 low, 246 high is choppy i'd stick to the day job. Rolls Royce couple weeks ago would've had you jumping!

the stitch up is. It has to be an 'off the forecourt' buy which is exorbitant. i normally buy a car with nominal mileage to minimise depreciation. EV list prices are bizarre. Look at the price of the electric Vauxhall Corsa compared to equivalent petrol. You could buy a Merc for those prices!

Paul, i thought they'd pulled the discount altogether now. Only discount is on home charger install. I was going to buy an e-golf end of last year but worked out too costly. Seemed like a big cost saver on paper. Charging at home would be 25% cost of my equivalent diesel golf, but reality was you'd get stung on M-way charging points which are a total rip off!

There's all this doom talk about how green/renewables is going to be the end for BP/Shell etc. Absolute BS. It is the Government holding back the green agenda, not BP. They are embracing this more than any other big oil co . It is the Government that is holding it all back. For all their hot air & grandiose statements about no petrol/diesel post 2030, there is no substance behind it all just like how they've dealt with Covid. There are no incentives to change to an EV. The Goverment used to offer subsidy of a few grand on an EV car purchase. They stopped that. BoJo knows he won't be in office come 2030, so he's prepared to spout any old nonsense to keep the Greta brigade quiet. The markets will soon realise there's nothing behind all these plans & as a consequence nothing will change. Oil is here to stay for a long time & come a time when a proper government is in office who are prepared to take a serious approach. BP will be the best prepared for it all operationally & financially!

Thought i'd stick a comment on here for old times sake as i really liked this BB. I totally screwed this one up & bailed out just before the lockdown for relative peanuts. I'd stuck with this one for nearly 3 months & had total belief in the company. Thought i'd get back in on a tank due to the lockdown but it just didn't really happen. Then the vaccine announcement & this soared. I missed out on a huge, huge gain here but hey no point in crying over it. I had put half the holding i had here into BP & a few quid into Greencore so have done well on them but really kicking myself over this one & i still think it has a good bit of upside left. Keeping an eye in the forlorn hope it may dip again but i doubt it. Anyway good luck to all on here & keep this board civil. You've all made a great investment which i always said & there's still more to come. GLA

230 dream world. if this gets near 240 tomoz i'll buy another shed load! possible early dip no lower than 245 i would guess! madness selling the £2 share in this market, not a day trade share this IMO!

yep, i note a few trollers, same names pop up on every board with their small change still in their pockets & the green eyes of envy as the share rises continue. I'm very pleased with this share's performance. Small daily rises are far better than big jump only for a big tank next day. Too much focus anyway on intraday stuff. I care little if this falls a bit, the main think is it's on a bullish uptrend & it has an awful lot of ground to make up which i have no doubt it will. People will be wishing they bought this sub £3 in couple weeks time, never mind £2.50!

This bloke is still waiting for his SYME shares to hit one pence!
