Fantastic day, well pleased. I expected a bit of a down day due to the Brexit nonsense, although stand by what i've said before, oil stocks should be least affected by all that stuff. Some shares will take a pounding over next week i think if the deal is rubbish! Hats off to Tacet. Yes, i always been a bit cynical as lots of wannabe tacets on other bb's who spout a lot of BS. But fair play you been pretty well on the money ever since i bought back in here in October!

Russ, yes, you sort of have similar ideas to me. I have a good load of these @ £2 & another tranche @230. Overall ave is 209 i think. But i also hold other shares showing a good rise & rising more. My philosophy was to put the BP one into ISA to protect the divi from tax, & probably just sell up to £12300 per year profits each year on the non ISA ones & my other shares. BP is great for an ISA though as capital gain & it has big divi yield!

Russ, yes unfortunately. I bought mine at £2 but only ISAd them @260. If you intend to keep them for a few years it's worth it beyond doubt. if you intend to sell it all depend on how much you hold in this & other shares really!

you can put £20k in an ISA for this tax year. So as an example you could put around 10000 BP shares bought @ £2 into an ISA. This is CGT & income tax free while in the ISA. So say you chose to sell them in 3 years when they are £5. You get £50k tax free avoiding CGT liability on £30k profits which you would pay if you had them outside an ISA. You can still buy & sell shares outside the ISA & make profits up to £12,300 pa before any CGT. Any dividend payments over £2k will be subject to income tax if they are outside the ISA!

bed & ISA is cheaper & safer than what blue boy says, although you can do it that way if shares are on a bearish trend but you want to keep them. With bed & ISA your trading platform buys & sells the shares instantaneously. They shouldn't charge a buy sell fee. The only cost is you have to pay stamp duty again!

it's called bed & ISA Russ. I did this the other week as i have a good holding here & realised i was liable to get stung on income tax. It's a no brainer for a long term hold as these in a few years time could & should be way higher & with the ISA it doesn't matter what level they reach you never pay CGT!

selling or trading this below 320 is bizarre. Once this hits 320 i feel it may amble in that area for a good while though, lots of historic resistance at those levels as i recall!

don't care whether this is up or down short term really. Nice dips will allow me to add more as i free up more cash. This will be where it needs to be. the market always corrects these share prices over time. Too many wanting overnight profits. Wrong share for that this one!

if it was mirroring RDSB would be 330+. No cause for concern though. If you have spare capital this is a great buying opportunity. We all know where this is going just a waiting game guys. Remember, patience is a virtue!

9% per month on that type of investing is a bit ridiculous & as Tacet very unquantifiable. on a compound interest basis that would be around 150-160% per annum at a rough guess. The type of trading you're suggesting also comes with really a huge risk & while £15k isn't small beer it is actually in this game. Personally to avoid tears & losing all your cash i would probably stick £5k each in 3 selected stocks & hold for the long haul. There is no quick buck in this game really. Some people get lucky on certain stocks once in a while. But most of these people will also have a tale of woe when things haven't quite gone their way!! Good luck in your endeavours though!

yes, agreed this one hasn't recovered like the rest. A nice top up here tomoz for me as this looking cheap as chips now!
