yes, rather bizarre he said this when it was 107: Regarding rolls, rights issue is done, no more borrowing money, just hold till positive news and travel returns, share price will reflect this in time.
Fastands, yea agreed, i been watching this share for a long time now, since pre RI in fact. I've missed out on some huge speculative gains for sure but this share really never ceases to amaze me. The fundamentals seem really quite poor & it doesn't look like any real money can be generated for a long time so i'm amazed how the price stays at these prices & above. I think it's just the RR name & over ramping that does it. I'm thinking of investing here as a hold for the long term but the current prices still seem really rather high given the risk!
RE: What to expect if the board announce covenants breached29 Jan 2021 17:12
In reality no bank in it's right mind would have not waived the covenants for a while. It's basically declaring the company insolvent. The RNS news is of little significance. It's confirmation of what was already known. Judging by the SP activity since results, the sp here will just amble at this level until any further announcement on the liquidity situation!
RE: Any entry around 270 is great for long term29 Jan 2021 16:46
yep, at 330-350 i may be tempted to slice some as i'm a bit over concentrated here & lots of other opportunities abound. I'm keeping a good holding though as a multi year income earner. I can't see the results being anything but extremely positive & am expecting by this time next week today's price will look a bit silly!
RE: Any entry around 270 is great for long term29 Jan 2021 16:17
I'm not exactly sure of the significance of 330 although it would be nice to be at that level. The share has only exceeded 330 once since Covid struck (June) & i've seen nothing in the last 25 years to indicate it is a turning point. This share is being held down by the current poor market sentiment. The OP is now nearing the 52 week price range. The results next week & hopefully some better general news should trigger a big boost here!
Carllapos, yes agreed, some bizarre valuations out there. Compare Petrofac & J Wood. Same types of businesses but massive disparities in their valuations. Lots of money to be made. Just need to do the right research & have some patient. I've lost out on so much profit by bailing out too quick. I held NEX @115; Melrose@93; Barc@91. Sold them all far too cheaply. Painful lessons!
I can't see the Moonpig float being of any great significance here. If anything it could encourage investment as CARD only valued @120m. I think Moonpig target market is different anyway. What should be happening is CARD should be targeting Moonpig customers with a better online offering & better marketing awareness. (poor management that-new CEO could possibly address the issue). I think the Moonpig/Dr Martens floats are absurd overvaluations anyway & while they'll probably be an initial success i expect investors will end up out of pocket. Just hedge fund investors making a quick buck. The fundamentals don't support the valuations at all. Avoid IMO!
Lewishem, it doesn't work like that. They have to first secure underwriting for a RI. That is by no means a given as CARD is a fairly small company from an investment bank perspective. The RNS is deliberately vague & doesn't really tell the market anything they didn't know already. I think the covenant extension would have been expected given the circumstances. The SP seems to be holding but then that is because this is nothing that isn't really known. Personally i will be avoiding this share at these prices as i think we will see a RI announcement here within a week or 2 if not sooner.
Hi LG, yea agreed, i was looking closely at this in the pre vaccine day when it was at lows too. At the time i stuck the cash elsewhere as there were so many bargains around. When i saw this dip i just had to get in here as very few stocks left which haven't recouped most of their losses. Part of me wants this to stay a bit low for a while so i can move some investments around & add more into this. Certain to be a good earner mid term at least this one!
