Ibug, you saying you never saw any " industrial"activity only goes to show the weakness of the protesting crowds as far as the transport/congestion argument goes, the point in question (which you did not answer) was the possibility of the drilling sites affecting the price of houses in the area around them.
The nimbys can't use that as the reason for their protests so they have to make up stories of earthquakes, pollution,noise, disruption, conjestion, air quality, upsetting the local travellers/wedding venues and spoiling the beautiful views of the local landscape......oh and also the much talked about "climate emergency" that they're all contributing to on a daily basis.
But no, nimbyism is about DON'T DO IT NEAR MY PROPERTY.........DO IT AROUND SOMEONE ELSE'S, you're ruining the value of my house don't you know.
That's a NIMBY.
There are true ECO activists, and many who pretend to be for their own reasons.
It's a funny old game.
