The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
When bad news doesn't move the share price it's often the first sign the bottom is in. 1p continues to hold.
It would be good to get some good news from this company for a change. Lots of blame but little be excited about.
Have to agree Mr Robo seeing Ben's bonus is probably the most alarming thing I've seen as a shareholder here. Through all the criticism I've always believed his driving motivation was to make successful discoveries and as a shareholder our interests were well aligned. This huge bonus in the face of a share price that has imploded and absence of any discovery has me very worried.
Can probably short a spread bet but yes it's a strange level to enter one. No experienced trader would would do it without a structured entry (something like a breakdown of the channel that happened at 6p). Hardcore apparently shorted into a double bottom, bold to say the least.
Hasn't our B1 target been upgraded using DHEM though? Perhaps a more reliable indicator than TDEM.
Market cap now 71 million. Net revenue from the non-op portfolio alone was $43 million last year and will be significantly higher this year with the new wells coming online as Colin has stated. Cheap by any metric and that's with the Paradox thrown in for free.
Ben's explained the strong lead at Ditau is the reason for the temporary change of course and it's the right decision. Do you expect them to just park this? It's their best lead now and they'll be in a far stronger position heading back to the KSZ if they have already banked a gold discovery.
I see Zephyr have chosen to retweet Turner Pope's comment about growing confidence they have a very large well. It would be suprising to have done this if it isn't the case.
A nice response this morning as investors have had a chance to digest yesterday's news and reavaluate this opportunity.
With gold back over $2000/oz, consenus that the Fed are done hiking and central banks around the world accumulating amidst growing geopolitical tensions this could be a very opportune moment for a significant gold discovery. Let's hope for continued good progress at Ditau.
The point is we have confirmed hydrocarbons, potentially lots. Including the non operated portfolio you realise none of this is priced in to the share price at all.
A gift for the alert.
I would say as a company currently priced as an oil explorer rather than a producer this is excellent news, flowing oil is confirmed and the leak has been controlled.
I'm sure Ben played his part in the KAV hire's, he takes enough stick so is entitled to some credit for the things he gets right.
I think we're focussing too much on the share price drop. Volume is tiny and a lot of people are shifting their portfolios at the moment for all sorts of financial reasons. With such a large spread/lack of liquidity moves will always be exaggerated. The narrative here hasn't changed since we got Mr Mumin's report and lots of buyers were drawn in.
I think that's a good decision. Strike whilst the iron's hot (excuse the pun) and the company will be in a much better position drilling the riskier project with a good discovery under their belt first. Let's hope they can convert these encouraging signs at Ditau.
Of the 2000 odd listed companies on LSE it's certainly curious he's focussing here..
A quick google suggests he founded e-cigarette company Totally Wicked. Looking on companies house that looks to be his area.
Apologies if I've missed a comms on this but given the potential breakthrough from the 2nd opinion on the ditau cores have KAV considered doing the same for the '****ed up rocks' from the KSZ? Or Are they pretty confident with the geology at that target?
Regardless of peoples opinions investing is not a zero sum game. We can all wish the best for each other. Back to Kav, it's refreshing to see the team with the wind in their sails and a renewed sense of purpose, we were certainly due some better fortune. Hope they can build on the positive momentum here.
