In the current cycle, I see 188 potential before the SP relaxes.

Wonder if I'm reading this wrongly as all indicators suggested this afternoon would be poor rather than pretty good. However.... I'd a target re-entry on XTA planned around 996 but the Dubai effect has skewed everything. Not sure where it is going except down, maybe. Midmorning and lunchtime indicators indicated a down afternoon on the major miners but it is only the minor miners thus far. Actually, have no idea but couldn't resist saying that!

I just ran a market scan and the suggestion is that it's now entering a downward trend for the rest of the day.

Just updated my reports in Premium Chat. My summary (which must be wrong) still suggests we all take Monday off. However, I do suspect the market is going to dip this coming week before UAE announced 'no problems' with Dubai at the end of the week. Just a suspicion...

Just ran a noon scan to project things for the rest of the day on the market. Does not look good. Major miners look bad and insurers look bad, along with oils. The 'joking' summary I'd put into my software reads; SUMMARY Immediate market trend based on sector movements: Worth taking tomorrow off. Bad day : However, I'd no movements such as we've just experienced to trend for so it may be utter rot. I've not bothered posting the numbers in Premium Chat as they're all pretty negative.

They've a nasty track record on doing consolidations or RI's anytime the SP gets into the 40-50 territory and I gave up speculating. It's actually the only share I still have the paper certificates for.

Just posted a note for you in premium. However, don't waste your time with COST. I've been holding them for 12 years (honestly) and simply get a nice wee cheque every year. SP does nothing interesting.

Guess we all need to send buckets and spades to the kingdom of sand to bail them out now... I was curious as to how my program would analyse things for today so just ran the end of day numbers and posted them in premium chat. However, the quick answer is that I hadn't written to factor todays movements in so cannot logically suggest any trend for tomorrow. My knee jerk is that we'll see a recovery followed by another dip on Monday once the weekend press mull over what the nice folks in Dubai have done. (essentially, shouted 'the sky is falling' then trotted off on holiday for 7 days)

No idea who IGE are but it flagged up as a potential buy in at current SP on my lists. Glanced at the chart and thought... ummm. Is it about to reverse a bottom cycle. Dunno.

Notice three gorilla's have now lined up. Given what happened recently with XTA where a similar formation of the green brutes formed, it was the start of a very profitable trend.

I left a comment for admin on the beta feedback area. I'm with you, don't get it. You are wrong about BARC though... (ok, I'm in at current so have an agenda. <grin>)

My caveat (thus far until I think up a better one) is that all I can map short term are logical trends and that trend today was supposed to be strongly up this afternoon. Obviously, the news about inflation is giving the market the jitters or it could be because it's raining outside. I'll run a mid term analysis at the close and look sternly at the figures. Everything I'm doing is based on highs of the day and lows of the day - and their movement compared with the most recent 6 periods. Interesting that one of my sell signals was XTA at lunchtime. (I'm not in at present) Will post in a wee while.
