"Looks like usual RC 'jam tomorrow' but the figures don't lie. From 1.317B shares in issue on 31st Dec 2014 to where we are now, and £2,000,000 in net debt."
Snapshot. This is the point I was making earlier, much has happened since the 31/12/2015, All historic - 31/12//2015, so 6 months after these results; there have been 2 placings since then and 6 months of SC revenues.
Remember this, after year end 31/12/2015. "Northcote is pleased to announce that it has substantially improved its balance sheet through two transactions with Shoats Creek Development, Inc. (‘SCDI’), its partner in the development of the Shoats Creek Field, Beauregard Parish, Louisiana. The total reduction in company liabilities resulting from the above transactions is US$535,800.00."
There are other improvements to the balance sheet references, but you need to dig deeper
15/3/2016 another post balance sheet event "As a result of restructuring of the relationship between Northcote and SCDI in concert with the GCW deal, Northcote will realize approximately US$30,000 per month savings in the Company’s US general and administrative costs"
Have a closer look, you and will see that NCT had borrowings of just $236K o/s at 31/12/2015 - compare that with o/s loans the previous year of $1.77M. They have no borrowings right now.
Net equity at 31/12/2015 = $3.556M; net equity at 31/12/2014 was negative $(594K). Improvement?
The loss decreased by 67% year on year.....
The Group generated a loss for the year attributable to the equity shareholders totalled US$6,137,000 (31 December 2014: $9,778,000), which was a function lower commodity prices throughout the period, the impairment of oil and gas assets totalling $1,359,000 alongside increasing activities in Mexico.

As I said earlier we all knew what to expect - infact I was expecting much worse, but now need to focus on current plans.....tick tock...news.
Accounts present a picture at any chosen date............the key to understanding the business etc is to try and work out what's happening actually happening win real time, post balance sheet events combined with research, talking to the Board, etc etc
