•ONS estimates of retail sales continue to show growth in the retail industry. In September 2013 the quantity bought increased by 2.2% compared with September 2012 and by 0.6% compared with August 2013. With three month-on-three month growth rates increasing for seven consecutive months these estimates show an underlying trend of growth in the retail industry. •Quarter-on-quarter, the quantity bought in the retail industry increased by 1.5%. Hi Benjiben re Steven Marks CEO, I feel it’s a little unfair to say he destroyed share holder value , don’t forget that he had to sell £40mill worth of FCCN shares in 2004 as part of his divorce settlement. I suspect the divorce threw him off track a bit (anybody been through a divorce will get my drift) and the recession hasn’t helped. I am guessing Marks is well over that now and wants to show the world he can turn around his original company. I also suspect Marks is a bit of a rebel, you would have to be to call your brand FCUK, so when you invest with a rebel it’s going to be risky. ( and potentially rewarding). With shares, its always best to diversify your portfolio and spread the risk across number of shares, making sure you hold some good old solid defensive shares (all in my opinion)

I don’t think this is anything new, my own pattern and history is I tend to spend a bit more retail wise during the summer months. In latter part of September and October I am pulling my belt in, knowing that Christmas is not far off. Come January and February the economy flat lines again whilst people recover from over- spending at Christmas, then many people has credit cards bills to pay off. It starts to pick up again towards Easter time. Retail tends to suffer because we have the fixed costs to pay, e.g. Mortgages. Rent, rates. Gas and electric, work travel, insurances, etc The retail index is always up and down, much like the stock market However in my experience women generally find a way to keep buying more clothes.

Hi guys, I wouldn’t consider selling at less than a £1 minimum and more if it keep on going up, and remember this was at one time £5 a share, do expect some ups and downs though. Dalooks, Blackjack , good to see a quantum leap in the share price, Asos doing well, retail in general doing well. Ive been in a trendier part of North London all last week and it looked to me that the better end is gaining ground. As the recovery gains momentum and there is more money in the purse & pocket, the quality purchaser and fashion conscious will look to individualize. Marks, sketch, nude campaign should start to pull in a new generation of younger buyers, the store revamps, and Marks continued enthusiasms all adds up to a positive outcome in my book Good luck all

It’s like the old days when politicians drove around and threw coins to the public. So I’ve topped up guys, the whole stock market is a gamble but the final divi hits our accounts on Friday and a lot of it will go back in as script etc, it will push it back up in my view I feel it’s a buying opportunity. Hi guys, I checked out the Birmingham Bull Ring store on Saturday. It’s very imposing store, just as you enter the mall, it looks fabulous. Very trendy, open window displays, smart, clean, sophisticated stock, in the ladies and men’s dept. An uncluttered and comfortable shopping experience, also it was busy. After spending some time in the store I am even more, of a happy share holder. Good luck all
