jeddicat - it is a voluntary liquidation as opposed to a bankruptcy. clearly, the assets of Sterling Trust far outweigh the liabilities, hence the protracted administration process. The administrators for Sterling Trust have not disclosed who the potential suitors are for the block of shares in Rurelec or their preferred sale route, but they certainly have options, at least that is according to their last report. We may hopefully find out more in the next week or so once the results are released.

Hi GFD, good to get your thoughts on what the FYR might hold and the opportunities for the company. Not sure the administrators for Sterling Trust would be happy with 3.5p to 4.00p per share for the 53% stake in RUR. They have spent a lot of time and creditors money to optimise the value of their investment here and would think an offer in that region would not be deemed a successful outcome. Now that EdS 'appears' to performing well and repaying its loans to Rurelec I am looking for a take-out valuation of circa 5.00p per share.

jeddicat - £17.6m of the losses in 2015 were associated with impairments and loss on disposals. The impairment losses were £13.3 million for Argentina operations, £2.3 million for Chilean operations, £1.7 million from the disposal of Independent Power Corporation and £0.2 million for Peruvian operations. Now that EdS is making regular payments back to Rurelec, it will be interesting to see if any of the impairment is reversed as I believe the repayments recommenced at the back-end of last year.

I think my comment about the results being better than last year could be quite a large understatement. The company lost £20m for the year ending Dec 15. At the half year stage in 2016 the profit was £2m, and I expect it will have improved since then, especially if there is a reversal of any impairments.

Looking back at previous release dates, the results could be out next week. Given the improving situation in Argentina and other positive news from the company regarding Ethosenergy, the forward statement may even include some optimism. Not sure whether there will be any positive changes regarding previous impairment charges, but the results should look a whole lot healthier than they did a year ago.

Excellent news. So, the results are due at anytime and we should hopefully find out what is happening with the sale of the assets.

Rurelec PLC ("Rurelec" or the "Company") Update regarding Energia del Sur, S.A. ("EdS") Further to the announcement of 27 April 2017, the Directors of Rurelec (AIM:RUR), the owner, operator and developer of power generation capacity in South America, have been informed that the 136 MW CCGT power plant in Southern Patagonia, Argentina, has been repaired, and successfully tested. Normal generating operations have resumed. As a result of the period during which the plant was not generating, EdS has experienced a reduction of revenue and cash reserves, resulting in missed and delayed expected loan repayments to Rurelec, however payments have now resumed.

A bit of movement. Are they speculative buys are has power generation restarted at EdS. We really should have been updated this week.

We should be getting an update this week on the repairs at EdS. The last RNS said they hoped to restart the plant by mid-May. With the final results due to be published next month, we may finally receive a proper update on what is happening on the asset sale front and future direction of the company.

Good to see the real spread narrowing and the bid increasing. It would appear that all of the cheap shares are gone for the moment.

Now up 9.68% on three trades. I suppose following all of the buying over the past few trading days, there can't be that many left at the current price, especially if the placing shares were taken up by Institutional Investors.

Good to see a bit of activity this morning. For a company, that according to the chairman is now profitable and growing rapidly, with huge ambition, it does seem to be a very attractive entry price to me. It is also now funded to cope with the rapidly expanding order book.

GFD, mine too are in a nominee account with Barclays, but I am led to believe it is relatively easy to inform them that you wish to vote in person, or nominate your own proxy. If the dates work out, I agree it would be a good idea to meet prior to the meeting. My concern is that I am away the first two weeks in July. However, if the results are released at the end of June, they couldn't hold the AGM until at least the 21 July.

I know we have looked at shareholdings here before, but if a few of us intend to go to the AGM it may be worth ascertaining how many shares are held by people on the BB, providing they wish to disclose the information. Also, whether they would complete a proxy form for one of us to cast votes on their behalf. I get the feeling we are coming to the business end of proceedings as far as the Sterling trust block of shares are concerned and if possible, we want to make sure our voices are heard. We don't want a situation where the Sterling Trust administrators abstain from voting at the AGM and the directors put through a resolution which is not in the best interests of all shareholders. Would appreciate people's thoughts on this.

The final results next month will hopefully add a bit of insight into what is happening at the company. GFD, you have stated you intend to go to the AGM once the date is announced. Once the location and date is confirmed, I will also be attending providing I am available. LTH's have been severely let down by the company and I think it is a very poor show that despite all of the changes to directors, nothing much has changed with regard to keeping shareholders appraised of events.

A few decent buys again today at the full ask. I think it is just a case of waiting for the next announcement. AfriAg Global results are due this month, so if there is going to be any sort of deal between the two companies, I don't think we will hear about it until after the results are released.

GFD, great to hear your positive thoughts. My view on what share price would be an acceptable outcome for Sterling Trust oscillates between 5.00p and 7.00p. The fact that the creditors have stumped up more money leads me to believe that they certainly expect a successful outcome. It does seem strange to me that Rurelec have not commented on the agreement with IPSA, especially when you bear in mind that PE issued a Statutory Demand for the outstanding debt.

Full ask paid again for 210,000 shares, but my dummy buy is at a lower price. Quite happy with that, but I do find it strange to be happening on multiple trades.
